So many people tell me that they always see me joyful and smiling, as if no worries in the world. The reality is, I daily face many challenges, but I don’t worry about them (Matthew 6:25 – 34, Philippians 4:6 – 7). The Lord Jesus is my joy and strength (Psalm 28:7) and He gave me the gift of joy (Galatians 5:22 – 23), which is mine to keep.
Yes, challenges come, and they hurt, but they do not control me, and neither can they steal my joy (James 1:2 – 4). I am in a personal relationship with Jesus and therefore I speak and journey with Him throughout the day, drawing my strength and energy from Him (Isaiah 40:31). His love saved me, is inside of me and therefore, it overshadows any challenge.
Perhaps, so much has happened in your life, that you don’t feel or believe in God’s love anymore. You might even be thinking that because of bad decisions and way of life, you don’t qualify for God’s love. If you feel like that, then STOP right there, and open your heart to hear what God has to say.
Firstly, know that you are created in God’s image (Genesis 1:27). He created the heavens, earth and nature, which is overwhelmingly beautiful and a true miracle from God. However, take note that God did not say that you were created in nature’s image. He said that you were created in His image. Wow! That means, when He looks at you, He sees perfection. You need to understand and accept this, as the only truth over your life.
Secondly, over 2 000 years ago, Jesus already qualified you for God’s love. I don’t know about you, but I did not live 2 000 years ago and yet, Jesus died for me and you. Right there and then, without us even being present, His blood, qualified us for God’s love. So, no matter who you are or what you have done, no matter what you think or are doing right now, can change the fact that you already qualify for God’s love.
It is important to remember, that satan is the accuser and he will take your past mistakes and even what you are busy with now and throw it in your face, trying to convince you that you are trash and not worthy of God’s love. This is a lie! Nothing that you have done or do, can change the fact that you qualify for God’s love. Yes, wrong decisions are wrong, and they have implications that must be dealt with.
However, when you are saved in Jesus Christ and you do wrong, you can ask forgiveness and receive it (1 John 1:9) through the blood of Jesus, without any condemnation (Romans 8:1). Furthermore, remember, your mistakes do not define who you are. Your identity is in Christ, a creation in the image of God, who already qualified you for God’s love. You just need to believe, choose, receive and live it!
2 Corinthians 5:21 says: “God made Him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God.” This is the only truth! The minute you accept Jesus Christ as your personal Saviour, you receive His righteousness and therefore become righteous through Christ. There is no other way. Once that decision has been made, no matter what the challenge, you stand up in it and in Jesus name decree and declare: “I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. I am forgiven, free and I have a future. No matter what, I am loved by God.”
Dear reader, you now know the truth. You are created in God’s image and you qualify for His love. All that you now need to do, is to make the decision if you want it, accept it, receive it and live it. I have made my decision, what is yours?
If you are not in a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, this is where new beginnings start. It is about praying and asking Jesus Christ to be your Saviour, asking the Holy Spirit to come and live in your heart and to take over every area of your life, thoughts and decisions.
