Dear friends in Christ,

I am very happy to share this new article with you. As always it is an honour and a blessing for me to be able to write to you and I praise God for the opportunity.

Today I have a question. Have you ever felt that you do so many things wrong that you could just never be good enough? Ever felt like you need to constantly prove to yourself and to God that are worthy of just being alive? I have. In fact, many times I still do, but today I want to share with you just a couple of thoughts that you may know very well, but like me, need to be reminded of once in a while.

Firstly, you ARE who God wants you to be. Dear friends, this is such a hard concept to grasp for me personally, but it seems like God keeps on confirming it to me. He made you to be exactly the person you are, and that includes the things you feel are your weaknesses. If none of us had any weaknesses, would any of us actually feel that we need a Saviour?? No, we would most likely think we need no one because we can manage just perfectly on our own. But God knows us so well, that He uses those very same things in our lives, which make us weak to draw us close to Him, to show each of us individually how much we need Him and to come and reveal His great love for each of us.

2 Cor 12:7-10 speaks of the thorn in the flesh, that I am sure we can all relate to on some level. We all have our own thorns in the flesh that make us feel weak and worthless. But how powerful the words that follow-“for when I am weak, then I am strong”. Why? Because God IN us makes us strong enough to face anything. And it doesn’t make sense, because we don’t deserve it but God loves us so much, He comes to stay IN us, despite all our weaknesses and flaws. Romans 5:8 “….while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

Dear friends, if God thought so little of us, and if He thought we were so worthless and so far from being loved by Him, WHY would he do that for us? Die for us? We need to realise that we DO NOT NEED TO DESERVE God’s love, forgiveness or acceptance! I have said this before, but I feel we should all hear it again. Yes, we will never ever be good enough to deserve God’s love, no matter what we do or how good we live our lives, but the thing we need to remember, is that God never expected or required that from us!

He KNOWS that we are weak humans, but HE CHOSE to love us anyway, without us having to deserve it! That is the whole point of Christ dying for us- to show us that we don’t need to try to deserve anything, He Chose us, He Loved us first and He says that because of His blood we ARE good enough for Him, if we would only choose to accept His undeserved love and favour!( John 3:16)

Whenever I remind myself of this, it actually shocks me. Because if God, who is so perfect and flawless, loves me so much that He sent His Son to die for ME, HOW can I ever be so vain as to feel that I have a right to think myself worthless? Jesus, King of all creation, loved me enough and thought of me good enough to die for and here I stand and think that I have the right to even consider myself not good enough?

If we just grab hold of  this great truth and proclaim it every day of our lives, we will slowly but surely learn to accept it as part of our identity in Christ and then, God starts showing us how much we are really worth. By making us see ourselves through His eyes, washed clean by His blood, His Children, covered in His love.(1 Cor 6:11,1 John1:7)

Now dear friends, here is the next amazing truth and this one we seriously need to accept. No matter how little you think of yourself, God thinks enough of you, who choose Him as Saviour, to give you authority on earth over all the works of the evil one! (Luke 10:19 “Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.) Also go read Matt 16:19. How amazing! But we don’t realise that God actually meant those words and that they are true for each and every one of us, His children. We sit here and think we are not good enough or close enough to God to take these scriptures seriously. My friends, it is time to realise that God’s Word is the Truth and the only truth you need in your life. Don’t you want to, just for once, forget about how bad or ill equipped you think you are and TAKE GOD’S WORD FOR YOURSELF.

God says He gives you the authority to do more than Jesus Himself did on earth, (John 14:12), so TAKE it and start proclaiming it! You can start by thanking God for the things you have been praying for. If you are waiting for that big financial break, that new job, healing in any area of your life, whatever you have been praying for in faith, start saying thank you that it is done. You have the right to do that, by the Blood of Jesus Christ. You have the Authority to do that, given to you by God Himself.

If you start trusting God enough to proclaim small victories in His Name, your faith will soon grow enough to proclaim authority over bigger things than you can ever imagine possible. Remember, with men these things are impossible, but with God, all things are possible (Mark 10:27). If you accept God as your Saviour, if you have faith in His Word and if you keep your prayers in line with His Will, you HAVE the Authority, because God Himself is on your side!

Dear Father, thank You for who You are. Thank You that we are indeed good enough in Your eyes to be loved by You and to be given authority in Your name to change this world. Please Lord, help us to accept this and to stand on Your Word and the faith that You plant in our hearts. You are everything God, and You are all I need. Amen.

Be Fearless in Christ.

Lizz
