Father God, thank you for choosing me as your daughter.  Jesus Christ thank you for saving me.  Welcome Holy Spirit, fill me with Your presence, clothe me with Your power, and breathe inside of me.  Amen!

Within this coming week, our eldest and only daughter will be marrying the man of her dreams.  Hence there is a great amount of excitement in the air and everyone is coming from far to celebrate this special day with us.  Knowing that both of them have a personal relationship with Christ, they will in full sincerity be standing before God, making a promise before and in Him that they will never again be apart.  What exciting times lie ahead of them this week, the day of the wedding and the rest of their lives.

Preparing for the wedding and feeling the excitement, made me realise how important it is to have exciting times to look forward to.  When you know you are going on holiday in December, you start planning from April and every time you think about it, you feel excited and this in turn keeps you going.  If you know that a special day like an outing with family or a birthday awaits, it is again exciting and already a few days before the time one feels the excitement in the house.  Just take weekends for example.  Come Monday, people are very quiet at work, but on a Thursday you start seeing a change in people and by Friday morning, people are laughing and singing in the passages.  This is proof that to have something to look forward to, definitely impacts positively on our emotions.

We also know that the opposite is true.  If you are alone, have no plans for holiday, facing many financial challenges and not even having a job, then there is often for many people not much to look forward to everyday.  They go to bed lonely and sad and wake up to a new day, feeling worse than the last.  It made me realise that there are so many people who must be looking at the lives of others, saying “they have it all.”  They must be looking and listening at us, wishing that they had a life like ours.  Do you know people like that?  Are you perhaps one of the people feeling that there is no joy in your life right now and that you have nothing of worth to look forward to?

I want to tell you a story of a young girl who had to face life without arms and legs.  She never gave up on life but completed her studies and pursued a career.  Satan has been adamant to destroy this girl’s life and made many attempts to bring her to a point of giving up on life.  However, every time the life of God inside of her pulled her through and with perseverance she has stood firm in her faith and her God.  She is now expecting her first child and what exciting times lie before her.  Praises to Jesus Christ!  Amen!

In the book of Genesis, we read about Joseph and how He knew God and that God had plans to prosper Him.  However, for many years in his life, many things went wrong and he was rejected by his own brothers, sold as a slave and in prison for something he didn’t do.  Yet, God kept His promise and Joseph’s life changed dramatically for the good.  Glory to God our King!  Amen!

Dear reader, you might be finding yourself in a position where nothing seems to be working out and you are feeling despondent, alone and not looking forward to tomorrow.  I want to tell you that Jeremiah 29:11 is God’s promise for your life when He says: “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.  Please never give up on life and more importantly on God’s promise.  Even if there is nothing exciting from an earthly perspective in your life right now, start getting more involved in the things Christ has planned for you.  Knowing that promise is true, what more exciting would we want?  The more you seek Him, the more you will find Him.  The more you give of yourself the more He will reveal Himself to you.  It sounds like exciting times to me, don’t you think?

With lots of love in Jesus Name

Princess K

PS:  Dear reader, please remember that the scripture used are from the New International Version.  If the scripture is read in another language and translation it might differ slightly.  A verse in the NIV might be a different one in your Bible, i.e. Ps 37:3 in the NIV might be Ps 37:4 in your bible.  This does not always occur, but happens in some instances.
