Glory, honour and praise to God my Father, Jesus my King and the Holy Spirit living inside of me!  Amen!

For the past few weeks, I have been experiencing gratefulness in a very deep way.  I think most of us grew up being taught by our parents to say thank you when we received something, whether it was a gift, food or even just by letting someone walk out of a door before you.  So most of us know how important it is to say thank you.  However, do we know how much those two words really mean?  Do we just say them because of being compelled or is it from our hearts?  If I asked you today, how many times you said thank you, would you be able to tell me?  I surely did not count mine today.  The Bible teaches us to be thankful and two of the scriptures I would like to build this article on are as follows:

  • Psalm 103:2
    • “Praise the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits…”
    • Ephesians 5:20
      • “…always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.”

I decided to dedicate this article to just saying thank you from my heart, demonstrating how thankful we should really be, taking note of it every moment of the day.

Lord today I say thank you from the bottom of my heart, feeling it from deep within, with tears in my eyes.

1.         Thank you for dying of the cross for me and overcoming death, illness and any challenge that I will ever face, through Your blood and resurrection.

2.         Thank you for my salvation.

3.         Thank you for my health.

4.         Thank you that I can use my hands to type this article.

5.         Thank you for the warm soup I can eat tonight with fresh bread and margarine.

6.         Thank you that my dog is healing well after her leg was hurt.

7.         Thank you for the lovely sunshine day and the fresh air that I breathed as I took a walk.

8.         Thank you for my legs that are healthy and that I can walk for exercise.

9.         Thank you for my children who bring joy to my heart.

10.       Thank you for keeping me from any harm of the evil one.

11.       Thank you for the warmth of my house.

12.       Thank you that I could put on a jacket to keep me warm.

13.       Thank you that I have a laptop with Internet to write and publish articles for Jesus to my Rescue.

14.       Thank you that I have a Bible that I can open and read any time of the day.

15.       Thank you that I can freely talk about Jesus in my country.

16.       Thank you for all the groceries in my cupboards.

17.       Thank you for a television so that I can connect to the rest of the world.

18.       Thank you that I have a place to work where I can live out all the assignments you give me.

19.       Thank you for my marriage and a husband who respects me and loves me unconditionally.

20.       Thank you for my dad that is still here with us as a mentor and coach.

21.       Thank you for all my brothers and sister who loves me and make me feel that I am special.

22.       Thank you that you always provide for me spiritually, emotionally, socially and financially.

23.       Thank you for my cell phone so that I can connect to people 24 hours a day.

24.       Thank you for our house help who is also your child.

25.       Thank you for our gardener who is also your child.

26.       Thank you for two cars that we can travel in different directions at once.

27.       Thank you for water in my house.

28.       Thank you for electricity.

I typed all the above as it came to mind.  What a privilege to have all of the above.  You see dear reader; it might sound silly to some to do what I have just done.  However, I do believe that only once we start writing it down, can we truly reflect on how good our God is to us.  In 5 minutes I could say thank you for 28 things, is that not amazing?  If we only spent as much time in saying thank you as we do on our knees asking for money, jobs and favour.  Do we realise that His favour and abundance is never ending when we serve Him?  We will never lack anything whilst in Christ.  Hallelujah!  Amen!

Lord, I am so thankful for who I am in You and that Your love, faithfulness and blessings are never ending.  Forgive me for where I just assume and accept things without really reflecting on where they have come from.

I thank you for my life and everything that is in it, in Jesus name.  Amen.

With lots of love in Jesus Name

Princess K

PS:  Dear reader, please remember that the scripture used are from the New International Version.  If the scripture is read in another language and translation it might differ slightly.  A verse in the NIV might be a different one in your Bible, i.e. Ps 37:3 in the NIV might be Ps 37:4 in your bible.  This does not always occur, but happens in some instances.
