You have the right to ask

Dear friends in Christ,

I want to thank God for the opportunity to write another article. My desire is to come to a place where His Name will always be glorified in all I do, think and say. Amen.

How many times have you been faced with a challenge that you either never thought of giving to God or that you thought was not something you could actually ask from God.

I find it heart breaking to see people who don’t understand their rights as a born again, blood washed child of the Living God. If you have given your life to God, He becomes your Lord, your Father, your best friend, the lover of your soul and you become an heir to the Kingdom of Heaven. There is nothing that you can not discuss with God and there is nothing too small or unimportant or irrelevant to ask from God, as long as it is in His will.

I met a woman recently, who told me that she is just so busy and life is so hectic that she can’t find the time to get closer to God, even though she really hungers for more of Him. I then asked her if she has taken her dilemma to God yet, bringing Him into the situation and asking Him to MAKE more time available to her, or even stretch time out for her so that she will be able to get everything done that needs doing and still find ample time to spend in the Word or praying. She seemed quite excited by the idea and said that she had not thought bout it and she will do just that. I find it heartbreaking that she had not done that the moment she became aware of her life being too busy to fit in time with God. Yet she never really thought of asking that.

I talk to God about everything in my life and I ask Him anything because when you give your life to God, then He starts guiding your thoughts and hopes and dreams, so that the very things that you start wanting and hoping for automatically come in line with what God wants to give to you. He also says in 1 John 5:14 that “…. If we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.”

Ok, so how do we know whether something is in God’s will for our lives or not? Well, in my opinion, if you ask anything from God that is in line with His Word and that will bring you closer to Him, anything that will make His Name known and anything that is not asked out of selfish human desires, but rather asked out of a heart that is set on God, is in His Will. If you have died to the sinful nature and you have been raised a new person, one who has the Spirit of God inside you, then you will know which things are true, noble, just, pure, lovely and of good report, virtuous and praiseworthy. Those are the things to meditate on and those are the things to ask for, as they ARE in God’s will. If you ask for anything that will have any of these things as a result and will make God happy, well then it IS in His will.

Now you may ask, for instance, why people still die then, even if we ask God for healing. People often answer “It just wasn’t God’s will.” Dear friends, I don’t believe that is the case! I believe that faith plays a big role here. When Jesus was asked to heal a person, He NEVER said that it was not His will! He asked if the person requesting this from Him BELIEVED that He could do it, and then He did it. God tells us we can pray for healing and for life and His Word tells us that He will give it to us if we believe He can do it and if we ask it so that HIS Name may be glorified and so that people may see that He is God.

I truly believe that if you are walking daily with God’s life inside of you, His Spirit will determine your needs and then no matter what you ask Him, how big or small, it will be according to His will. I also do believe that if you are His child, He cares about you and He wants you to be blessed and happy and full of joy! If you then ask Him something, even if it is something small, or something that you don’t think would be important to Him, God, who knows your heart, will NOT turn His back on that prayer.

Matthew 7:9-11 states “What man is there among you who, if his son asks for bread, will he give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent? If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father Who is in heaven GIVE GOOD THINGS TO THOSE WHO ASK HIM?”

If you are God’s child, you have the right to ask Him! Ask him for whatever you need, big or small, important or seemingly insignificant. If it is important to your heart, then it is important to God, because your heart is what matters to God.

Dear Lord, thank You that there is nothing I can ask from You that is too small or unimportant. Thank You that my heart matters to You. Thank You that You want to give me the desires of my heart. Help me to understand how deeply You love me. Lord You are everything and You are all to me. Amen.

Be fearless in Christ.

Lizz.
