Father God, I am so honored to be called your daughter.  Thank You for choosing me!  Jesus Christ, thank You for saving me!  Holy Spirit I love You and I am so grateful that You are in my life, giving me direction.  Amen!

The past couple of months, one of our loved ones have been challenged in being without a job for months.  The business he worked for was not doing well and all the employees were informed that they had to find other jobs and although he worked every day, he did not receive his final salary.  This left him challenged like never before, having to provide for his family, yet no job with a monthly income.  He sent out his CV, applied for positions, had gone for interviews and now he is waiting for a response.  He is completely devoted in serving Christ and he knows that God will not let him down.  We pray and stand on God’s promises that He will provide and that He will never leave nor forsake him.  In this week God gave us Word of good news on 7 December 2015.  It is now 9 December 2015 and we have not received word of what the good news is.  However, God has spoken and we realise that this is spiritual and if God said good news on 7 December 2015, it is good news, whether we have seen it or heard it or not!  We trust God!  Amen!

Dear reader, have you or perhaps someone you know gone through the same or similar situation?  It leaves one with knowing that God will provide but having to stand firm in your faith and not allowing doubt to creep in from the side.  When you see no breakthrough but only that things must be paid and food must be bought, it is not easy to keep faith.  It leaves one feeling helpless and then eventually it attacks your self-worth and satan feeds you lies about not being good enough etc.  Have you experienced this?  It might have been for your marriage, current job, a career, studies, health or finances.

Whenever I go through trials as mentioned above, I go back to the story of Lazarus in the Bible (John 11).  Let us unpack it quickly.  Jesus got the news that Lazarus had fallen sick.  He immediately responded by saying: “this sickness will not end in death.”  He made a declaration and remember when God speaks, His words does not return to Him empty (Isa 55:11).  He then stayed where he was for two more days before leaving to go to Lazarus.  He knew that Lazarus had fallen asleep (died) but He also knew that what He had already spoken were the truth in that the sickness would not end in death.  When Jesus arrived in the town where Mary and Martha lived, he found that Lazarus had already been in the tomb for four days.

He was moved by both Mary and Martha’s tears and also cried.  Jesus asked Martha a question and she replied with the conversation between her and Jesus as follows: “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?  Yes, Lord,” she replied, “I believe that you are the Messiah, the Son of God, who is to come into the world.””  Later when Jesus asked them to remove the stone in front of the tomb, Martha said that Lazarus had been in the tomb for four days so there would be a bad odor.  Jesus then said to Martha:  “Did I not tell you that if you believe, you will see the glory of God?”  They removed the stone and after Jesus prayed and called out to Lazarus, he came out, still wrapped in cloths.

Dear reader, this scripture is so powerful and all you need to do is to keep faith.  If you believe in God, in Christ and in His Word, there is nothing and I say it again, nothing that God can’t and won’t do for you!  Amen!  Looking at the story of Lazarus, your own and that of our loved one, let us put a few things into perspective.

  1. God is Almighty and in control of everything in our lives and even when things go wrong and we are challenged, He will turn things around into our favour. (Rom 8:28)
  2. God knows everything and although something does not make sense to us, we need to trust Him unconditionally. He sees every act and decision that people make and even if they are bad decisions influencing His children, He knows about it.  He misses nothing.  (Ps 139, Heb 4:13, Prov 15:3, Jer 23:24, Col 1:17, Job 34:21)
  3. When God speaks, nothing will stop His plan for you, not even death. (John 11 – story of Lazarus)
  4. God promises to never leave us nor forsake us and to help us. (Jos 1:5 – 9)
  5. God’s timing is perfect even if you think He is late. (John 11 – story of Lazarus)
    1. “But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” (Isa 40:31)
    2. There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens.” (Ecc 3:1)
    3. But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day.” (2 Pet 3:8)
    4. He said to them: “It is not for you to know the times or dates the Father has set by his own authority.” (Acts 1:7)
    5. But when the set time had fully come, God sent his Son…..” (Gal 4:4)
    6. He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end.” (Ecc 3:11)
    7. The Lord is good to those whose hope is in him, to the one who seeks him; it is good to wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord.” (Lam 3:25 – 26)
    8. Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.” (Ps 27:14)

Dear reader, reading the above, no matter what the challenge is, we have to trust our God that He knows the best and that at the right time we will get our reward and answers.  There is no reason for panic, for when God speaks, it will happen!  We need to wait, be patient, hope, keep faith, trust and not rely on our own understanding.  I know it sounds easy, but in Christ alone can we do this.  Amen!

To our loved ones and to everyone reading this article, make sure Christ is your Saviour and if not, invite Him into your heart for I tell you today that you can’t do this by yourself.  If you are in Christ and you sometimes fail by getting impatient or even doubting God, remember that WHEN GOD SPEAKS, IT HAPPENS.  You might only see it later, but it will happen.  Lazarus died and Jesus arrived four days later.  According to Mary and Martha He was late, but not according to Him.  He already declared four days before Lazarus died that the illness would not result in death and even when Lazarus died, he was actually only asleep.  God is never late!  NO MATTER WHAT…..TRUST GOD WHEN HE SPEAKS.  How does He speak?  There are many ways but everything you need to know is in the BIBLE, His Word of truth!  And when you doubt, remember His words from John 11…“Did I not tell you that if you believe, you will see the glory of God?”

I would also like to say to all our readers, thank you for blessing Jesus to My Rescue Ministries with you prayers and finances.  Have a blessed and merry Christmas.  Enjoy 2016, a year full of excitement.  Grab every moment and live it out!

Lots of love, Princess K
