Today I was walking in the road to visit the local shop while listening to some great Christian music on my I-Pod. Next to me I had the ocean with the sun close to set. As I was walking I heard a voice in my head telling me to walk in the veld next to the ocean. At first I though never, I cannot do this, it is going to take to long and it will be dark soon, but I ended up doing it anyway. The view was amazing and and the music so great that I started to sing out load. As I was walking I saw the path splitting into two different directions, the one going back to the road and the other further into the veld and once again I heard a voice in my head telling me to take the one in the veld. I continued my journey and the view just got better and better as I went along.
Then all of a sudden I realized that I was far away from the road and deep into the veld. I stood still for a moment and thought about going back and rather taking the road but again I heard a voice in my head saying take the veld. I continued my journey once again but the path started to disappear and it became really difficult to walk as the bushes scratched me, the ground were uneven and my feet started to heard. Yet, I continued my journey. The next moment I was high up on a hill with the path now being very narrow and right on the edge of the hill. I knew that if I had to slip I would fall to my death yet I continued until I came across a huge bush which seemed to me like a dead end to the path.
At that very moment I heard the same voice again in my head telling me to turn around and look into the ocean. When I did that I could not believe my eyes as I was standing on the edge overlooking the ocean seeing the most beautiful sunset I have ever seen in my entire life. All this together with the music in my ears, gave me the most amazing feeling I have ever had and I simply burst into tears. This was not tears of sadness, nor of unhappiness, it was tears of joy! I knew that if I would have taken the tar road that I would not have seen the cliffs, the ocean and the beautiful sunset, I would have missed it all!
I then realized that the Lord has shown me the Path of Live by guiding me away from the short and easy route. He has shown me that by taking the longer and more challenging path will lead me to the greatest experience that will blow my mind away. He has shown me that we have two choices in life, two paths we can walk on, one being on the wide and easy road and the other on the long and narrow. Taking the short and easier road might be easier to walk on at times but will not bring us the same joy as walking on the long and narrow path.
He also showed me that walking on the long and narrow path, we will come to cross roads, dead ends, parts where we feel we cannot continue and just want to give up, parts where we will feel as if we are dying and are being left alone, but yet when completed, the price we get is mind blowing and that price is eternal life! He also showed me that if we walk that path with Jesus that we will be protected and guided to complete our journey of life with success. By taking the short and easy road you might just end up finding out that you have arrived at the wrong place!
Walking with Jesus!
Life can be tough but you can survive it if you walk with Jesus!
Life can be cruel but you can face it if you walk with Jesus!
Life can bring many challenges on your path but you can overcome it if you walk with Jesus!
Life can bring you down but you can stand up and fight it if you walk with Jesus!
Life can bring you pain and illness but you can be cured if you walk with Jesus!
Life can bring you death but you will be set free and enjoy eternal life if you walk with Jesus!
Accept Jesus in your life today, walk with Him till the end of days and you will be set free!
My Prayer!
Dear Lord Jesus I thank You for being blessed, for having you in my life and heart, for forgiving me my sins and I thank you for walking with me all the way! I praise you Lord for showing me the way, bringing me back on the Path of Life when I tend to get lost and for keeping me close to you at all times. I thank you Lord for loving me, caring for me and taking care of me! Thank you Jesus for the opportunity to know you and having a tour Guide to Heaven. I thank you Heavenly Father for giving your only Son to die for me on the cross so that I can be set free! I thank you Heavenly Father that I can enjoy my life walking with Jesus. Thank you Jesus! Amen
