In your presence God is where I want to be all the time. Father I glorify you! Jesus Christ I love You with all my heart. Holy Spirit You are inside of me and therefore my every breathe. Glory to God! Amen!
As I went through the Easter period I was so emotional and just realised once again what Jesus Christ did for me and you. What a gentleman and what an example. So humble, so worthy and always saying the right thing. That is my Lord, Jesus Christ. Amen!
Dear reader what was your Easter like? Did you manage to spend time with Jesus, once again reflecting what He has done for you? Every day is Easter for me. Every day I think about what my Lord has done for me. I am so honored to be called a disciple of Christ and a daughter of the Most High. Amen!
Let us take a moment and reflect on the ultimate sacrifice that our Lord has made and the humble life He has lived. His mother and father on earth went into a marriage by having faith in God, who through His angel told them that Mary is with child (Luke 1:30) without being sexually involved. Joseph and Mary therefore had to have a lot of faith in God to see this pregnancy through. They trusted Him unconditionally I believe and this in itself was already an act of true humbleness. Jesus was born into this world in that humbleness and faith. Praise God.
Jesus grew up like any other child and although the Bible does not say all that much about His childhood, we read in Luke 2 that when Jesus was 12 years old, He stayed behind in Jerusalem for 3 days whilst listening to the teachers, asking questions and amazing people with His understanding. Jesus therefore knew who He was and He took time to be in His Father’s house. Again, he chose humbleness. It did not say He sat in the temple and preached to everybody. No, it says He listened and asked questions.
When Jesus was about thirty years old (Luke 3:23), He began His ministry. It is interesting that before then He was with His family and He lived life like me and you. He was definitely not one of the rich that had everything. He lived a humble life as a carpenter (Mark 6:3) and I am sure therefore appreciated life. When He started His ministry and called His disciples, they never lacked anything, for they lived from God’s provision in faith. Praise God! Again humbleness and faith was displayed by our Lord.
In John 13:1 – 17 we read how Jesus is the typical example of a servant-leader. He humbled Himself as Lord and washed His disciple’s feet. After He washed their feet, He gave them instructions to go and wash others’ feet. He said: “…no servant is greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him.” Here our Lord Jesus showed us servanthood and that if you are not the master/boss/person in charge, it does not mean you do not have authority. He also showed that if you are the one in charge, you must have a servant-leadership mentality.
Coming to the stage of Jesus’ life when he was crucified, His humbleness continued. He was not afraid of the teachers of the Jewish law. He was confident (John 15:1) and showed grace and mercy. He forgave (Mark 2:5) people, healed (Mark 1:40 – 45) people and taught (Mat 5) the Word of God. Jesus knew that Judas would betray Him, yet He still broke bread with him. Jesus remained calm when he was arrested. He did not fight the arrest and when Simon Peter took a sword and struck one of the soldiers and cut of his ear, Jesus touched the man’s ear and healed it (Luke 22:51 and John 18:10).
So again, Jesus remained calm and humble, knowing what the Father has destined for Him in order to save me and you. Once He came before Pilate (John 19) he did not lie, even though he knew what was awaiting him. He confirmed and said: “You are right in saying I am a king. In fact, for this reason I was born, and for this I came into the world, to testify to the truth.” Jesus did not lie. He did not fight. He stood firm. Lastly, when He was hanging on the cross and the end was near, He forgave all those who hurt Him, scarred Him and crucified Him (Luke 23:34). Praise God! Amen!
Oh dear reader. Read back in this article and see how Jesus Christ, throughout His life, was the ultimate sacrifice. What are we today? Do we sacrifice ultimately? Do we stand firm even when we are falsely accused and when pressurised by this world? I tell you, it is not easy, but let us in relationship with Christ, stand firm and like our Lord Jesus, humble ourselves, forgive, teach the Word, heal in the name of Jesus, stay calm, show grace and mercy and be servant leaders.
Jesus Christ, thank you for being the ultimate sacrifice for this world! I love you Lord!
Lots of love
Princess K
PS: Dear reader, please remember that the scripture used are from the New International Version. If the scripture is read in another language and translation it might differ slightly. A verse in the NIV might be a different one in your Bible, i.e. Ps 37:3 in the NIV might be Ps 37:4 in your bible. This does not always occur, but happens in some instances.
