TRUST GOD FOR THAT WHICH YOU DON’T HAVE

December 2008

We are faced with challenges on a daily basis, but challenges are what grow us in becoming achievers and more than conquerors. However, as we face challenges we often feel that God has forgotten us, especially if the challenges persist even after prayer. Most of our challenges are related to marriage, friendships and finances. So why would this be? See, God loves marriage, gives abundance and cherish the unity of friendships. Hence, satan uses exactly the same things to torment and challenge us.

How do you feel today about your challenges? Perhaps you started doubting God or even yourself, thinking you’re no good in solving anything. Well this is a lie! A lie told by satan, who simply wants you to believe that your challenges are greater than your ability to see it through. I have been going through many financial trials over the past few months and although I prayed and studied the word of God, I started doubting God, asking Him why He is not answering my prayers. On top of my challenges He told me to request my husband for direction in contributing to a financial need of someone else.

I was thinking perhaps we could contribute R300 or if carefully planned maybe R500. My husband was told by God to give R2000. I repeatedly asked my husband whether he got the right message from God because God knew we did not have R2 000 in the bank. He was very clear and the amount was send forth to the persons in need. I kept praying saying to Jesus that I don’t understand why he asks us to give away something we don’t have. After a couple of days the answer came. “TRUST ME FOR THAT WHICH YOU DON’T HAVE”

Perhaps you are facing challenges with your marriage, relationship or your finances. I want to assure you of God’s promise that even when you are in a desert place feeling that nothing is working out for you, He is there. Take courage in Isaiah 43 vs 18 – 19 that says “Forget the former things and do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing.” He also says in Isaiah 44 vs 2 – 3 “…Do not be afraid, my servant. For I will pour water on the thirsty land and streams on the dry ground.” TRUST ME FOR THAT WHICH YOU DON’T HAVE”

So, dear reader. No challenge is too big for God. TRUST HIM FOR THAT WHICH YOU DON’T HAVE” albeit peace in your marriage or relationship, success, happiness or finances. Give all your challenges to God and do what He says in Prov 3 vs 5 “trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding” and Heb 10 vs 35 “So do not throw away your
confidence, it will be richly rewarded”.

As we celebrate the birth of Jesus, remember that satan hates this time of the year when family and loved ones celebrate the birth of the one who set us free. Satan therefore will do all in his power to break up families and marriages. YOU CAN STOP him! Simply pray and proclaim love in every area of your life. Where love is, there is no place for satan.
Remember the battle is not ours. God has a lovely future planned for us, simply TRUST Him!
