RESURRECTION POWER – A NEW FOCUS ON CHRIST ARTICLE

RESURRECTION POWER

Once again, I have been blessed during the April 2019 Easter weekend, celebrating the life of Christ.  Yes, Jesus was crucified and went through a great ordeal, from beating, humiliation, flocking, mocking and finally brutal death; but then, through the power of God, He overcame death and was resurrected.  Praise Jesus, for He is alive!  Knowing that, it is once again affirmed in our hearts that the day we accepted Jesus Christ as our Saviour, that was also the moment that we received resurrection power, as the same power that raised Christ, is now within us.

In John 11:25, Jesus says: I am the resurrection and the life.  The one who believes in me, will live.  Reading about the crucifixion and the resurrection in all four gospels in the Bible, from Matthew to John, we clearly see how what Jesus said to Martha, before even being arrested, came true.  On the cross, He was declared dead, placed in a tomb and on the third day, the grave was empty for he was raised by the power of God.

Are we only living in the fact of the Easter story, that Jesus was crucified and that there was a resurrection, or are we living the truth to what Jesus Himself said, that He is life?  We tend to get caught up in religion, giving us the facts and then just getting stuck on the facts, hence celebrating Easter as a remembrance, waiting for the next “event” to be celebrated.

I am not saying we must not celebrate events from the Bible, for off course we must, but let us not get stuck on the religion part and facts that Jesus was arrested, crucified, raised and is now alive.  The question is, do we live the real power of the resurrection in our everyday lives? Jesus’ sentence in John 11:25 did not stop at “I am the resurrection” but He continued to say: “I am the life.

Hearing this all over again and believing it, do you realise that when you received Jesus, you received resurrection power and therefore, life?  The minute we are no longer stuck on the facts of the Easter message, but realise that the same power that raised Jesus, are alive within us, we are unstoppable and fearless in Christ.  Then, no matter what comes our way, we will always be above those circumstances, for they will not control us.  Yes, it will challenge us, but not control us.  It can never ever steal our peace and joy, for both are gifts from God, and no one has a right to take it from us.

Once a Pastor asked me how often I speak with the Holy Spirit.  I thought about it and told him that I speak to God and Jesus, throughout the day.  He then responded by telling me that I have not answered his question.  It made me realised that I did not really speak with the Holy Spirit.  He encouraged me to speak with the Holy Spirit after I wake up the next morning.  The next morning, I woke up, remembered what he told me and then started speaking with the Holy Spirit.

I said good morning to Him and let me tell you that at that moment, a fire was ignited within my heart.  A warmth came over me and I could feel His presence, not just in the room, but inside of me.  I realised that day, that when I gave my heart to Jesus, the Holy Spirit, came to live inside of me.  My goodness, my whole life changed that day, and not a day goes by, that we are not in conversation.  I want to be with Him, spend time in His Word and use His Word to face the challenges in my life (Ephesians 6 – Armour of God).

I use resurrection power every day of my life, whether at home, work or at the shops.  Wherever I go, I pray in the Spirit, speaking with the Holy Spirit and in Jesus name, I claim souls, ground, businesses, marriages etc. for Jesus Christ.  That is resurrection power at work in me, all to and for the glory of God!

Dear reader, this is not just something that is for me, but it is something for everyone, who is alive in Christ.  Are you stuck in the religious facts of Easter or are you alive in Christ, living by His resurrection power?  Afterall, that is why He died, for you and me.

If you are not in a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, this is where new beginnings start.  You can follow this link: https://test.jesustomyrescue.com/accept-jesus/ for assistance.
