Just a story, just a game

Dear friends,

As always it is a blessing to have the opportunity to write another article and I thank my Heavenly Father that I am able to share my thoughts with you again. There is something very disturbing that I see more and more frequently all around us these days and I would like to share some thoughts on this.

If you switch on the television you are bound to see either a movie or a series or even a children’s program or animation about magic, magicians, wizards or mediums. The books our children read are filled with vampires, werewolves and demonic characters and powers of the occult which are bottled up or contained in crystals or other items. Wicca, fortune telling and interest in the paranormal are the order of the day.

What bothers me most is that people don’t seem to find this alarming! Even children of God watch these programs, buy these games for their kids and read these books without thinking much of it. Dear friends, may we be reminded that we are living in the last days and that God warns us clearly in His Word to not have anything to do with such things.

Gal 5:19 “The acts of the sinful nature are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft, hatred, discord……I warn you as I did before that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.”

Deut 18:10- 12: “There shall not be found among you anyone who burns his son or daughter as an offering, anyone who practices divination or tells fortunes or interprets omens, or a sorcerer or a charmer or a medium or a necromancer or one who enquires of the dead, for whoever does these things is an abomination to the Lord.”

We have to realise that satan is extremely sneaky and he is a master of deception who wants to lead us astray with all these things that God hate so much. How does he manage this? By sneaking these abominable things into the world in a seemingly innocent way. An animation with a cute little witch or a loveable vampire. A board game about magic. Through the books we read every day and the programs we watch every day and the music we listen to every day we are opening a door for satan to lead us away from the truth.

Most people will say that it’s just a story, just a game, just a book, but these things are becoming acceptable to us without us even knowing because we are choosing not to see that it is wrong and it is from satan. The world has already gotten so used to these things because very sneakily it has infiltrated our daily lives, dear friends and we will not be able to stand back and blame others when our children’s children grow up to be ignorant in a world where God is long forgotten.

Many people say that we shouldn’t look for satan in everything but when we can clearly see the things that God warns us about are starting to happen, how can we sit back and just accept it? I tell you now I will NOT.  I don’t care what people say, I will NOT allow satan to infiltrate my life with his filth. We need to start teaching our children to believe in God and in the Holy Spirit. We need to teach them not to just believe in God but to respectfully fear Him as God and to stay away from the things He warns us about!

Why do we let our children be influenced by magic tricks and the occult? If they are interested in supernatural powers don’t you think we should teach them about God’s power, His Holy Spirit and His ways? There is no bigger power, no force and no being in heaven or on earth or anywhere else that can come close to the power of God. Why don’t we teach our Children that!

Dear Friends let us open our eyes and not be blind to what is happening in the world this very moment. We are not fighting against flesh and blood but against the spiritual forces of evil (Eph 6:12), and we are letting them in to corrupt our minds and the minds of our children. Let us wake up, open our eyes and start seeing things for what they are. A cute witch and a lovable vampire?? No you guys, this is NOT from God. Steer away and teach your children to know the difference between what is right and what is wrong.

1 Tim 4:7 “Have nothing to do with Godless myths and old wives’ tales, rather train yourselves to be godly.”

Prayer: Dear Lord, thank You that we, Your children have Your Holy Spirit to guide us in truth. Open our eyes and help us to look and to see the warning signs. Keep our children safe from influences that are bad and from beliefs that are not from You. Help us Father to teach them what is right and steer them away from what is wrong. May we listen to Your Holy Spirit and be awake in these times. Thank You for loving us. Thank You for saving us and thank You that Your blood has washed us clean. Lord You are everything and You are all to me. Amen.
