It’s just you and Me

Father God, I worship You and You alone.  I stand amaze at who You are.  Jesus, You are my Saviour and best friend and I love You!  Holy Spirit, You are my life, You are my strength! I want to be with You all the time! Amen!

This week I was on training and as usual I asked God what I had to do for Him on course.  By the middle of the week as I prayed, one of the ladies on course with me, became visible in my mind.  Her face kept on appearing to me as I was praying and although I do not know her personally, the Holy Spirit guided me on what to pray. By the Wednesday, I decided to tell her that she was in my prayers, not knowing how she would react.

She asked me why and I explained how the Holy Spirit has guided me throughout.  I then gave her Word as the Holy Spirit told me to do and she started telling me about her life and challenges.  In summary, she said that when she no longer knew how to pray, the Spirit guided someone else to pray on her behalf.  That is when it hit me.  Even when you feel alone, as if God does not hear you, He in His Spirit, brings comfort through another sister or brother in Christ.  What I am trying to say here is that you are never alone.

Are you in a place where you feel like you don’t know how to pray anymore?  Perhaps you have been praying for something or someone for so long and you feel like giving up.  Maybe you find yourself in a situation where you feel trapped in some way, whether at work, in your relationship or in your marriage.  Could it be that you are just not seeing any light at the end of the tunnel because of your finances that simply gets worse by the day?  You might be crying out to the world and no one really hears or understands how you feel.

Hence, you feel like nothing is working out, no one is on your side and even with prayer and faith in God it appears as if you are alone in all of the above.  Is this you?  Is this how you feel as you are reading this message?  I want to tell you something about life.  Even in the worst case scenarios, when nothing else matters and you are in desperate need for help, who are we calling to for help?  When you find yourself in a situation that you did not expect would happen and are challenged with fear, who do you call out to?  Yes, mostly God!  What that tells me is that in all of us, created in His image, whether we serve Him or not, we in the depths of our hearts know that He is there! Amen!

I want to challenge you today dear reader.  If you are finding yourself in a position as described in this article, sit back for a moment, and unpack your life.  I challenge you to allow God to reveal Himself to you in all areas of your life.  He is telling you to come to a place where you experience Him in all His glory.  Allow yourself some personal time.  Make space for God to reveal Himself to You.  Go into a time of fast and prayer and start unpacking the things in your life. In the Spirit, put aside your work, your children, your husband, your finances, your challenges.  “Undress” yourself until you are standing “naked” before God and allow Him to minister to you, to lift you up, to show you what He wants you to see.

Spend this time with Him and in this process be healed, forgive and move on.  Get His strength to put the past where it belongs and take the step towards eternity with Him.  Then ask Him to put back the things in your life that must be there and ask Him to show you through His eyes how to approach each one of them.  It is like starting over, fresh!  Now this is all done in the Spirit as you don’t physically walk away from for example your family.

If you don’t have the opportunity to be alone for a couple of days, do it whilst you carry on with your daily activities.  That is how I have done it.  This process hurts, but it helps you to get perspective.  It takes the focus of the circumstances and puts it back to where it belongs, on God!  In moments like these, and there have been many times that I have done it, I experience that God says “it’s just Me and you.”  I share my experience with you as these are the times I feel the closest to Him, sense His presence and receives His peace.

Dear reader, bring yourself to a place of reconciliation with God.  Put aside all your challenges.  Breathe in His love, His care, His peace and focus on His victory on the cross.  This will help you to identify who your real enemy is.  It is not the finances, it is not your family, it is not the work, it is not your husband, it is satan who hides himself behind all these things and people.  Look deeper, think clever, have quiet moments with God and allow the Spirit to show you what to do and how to keep focussed.  At no time, go back to war, but stand on the victory that has already been won on the cross.  Call on it and proclaim it over every area of your life.  By His blood, you have been set free, forever!

So remember, you are not alone because in each and every situation when no one else counts, God calls out to you, “it’s just Me and you.”  Then, go back to a quiet place, unpack, and let Him once again make you whole!  Remember, what matters is Christ and you!.  Get that relationship right and everything else will fall into place.

With lots of love in Jesus Name
