Father God thank you for your truth in my life.  Jesus thank you for setting me free from sin and death.  Holy Spirit You are my everything, my every breath.  Amen!

Another day, another week, another month and another year.  All of us find ourselves living from one special moment to the next, feeling that it keeps us going day by day.  When we are at the end of a summer holiday, we start talking about the Easter holidays and then we start looking forward to long weekends, weddings, other special occasions and again the planning for the next holiday.  It seems as if when we have something to look forward to, it keeps us energetic to get up and go on with life every morning.  So we live our lives day by day and year after year and before we know it 20 years have gone by.  Just this past month I have turned 42 and I realised that I have lived a good part of life already.  Because I am a very energetic person, I like to exercise and keep fit and therefore I do not feel my age.  So although I know that I am 42, I still feel like a girl in my twenties on the inside.  We find ourselves seeing with our eyes that we have aged on the outside but inside we still feel so young.

Perhaps you are reading this message today and you are still young but feel as if you are very old.  Perhaps your body has been challenged and you are facing health attacks on your body.  Then again, you might still be young and feel as if life has only thrown curveballs at you and from all the ducking and diving you feel wasted, tired and old.  You might have gone through rape, physical abuse, financial difficulties and verbal scarring.  Many a times, people who have faced or are still facing these challenges, feel they have nothing to look forward to in life and often end up feeling like a failure.  They feel by ending their lives they will be doing themselves, others around them and the world a favour to just disappear.  Is this you today?  Are you feeling lonely and not looking forward to tomorrow?

Then again you might have lived life to the full and after 70 years you might feel as if life has come to an end for you.  You might be facing health challenges like never before.  You might be lonely without a loved one and family staying far away from you.  You realise that your vision, memory and concentration is not what it used to be.  Many elderly people are facing these challenges and many find themselves alone in a centre for the elderly.  Day after day they simply sit in a chair and wait for their lunch and supper and then to go to sleep to repeat it all over again the next day.

God tells us that we will not have it easy in this world (John 16:33) but that He has overcome the world.  If you seek Him and commit your life to Him, He will make your path straight (Prov 3:6) and this means He will face the challenges for you.  All He asks is your heart, trust and faith in Him and remember He says that He will do immeasurably more for you than what you can imagine (Eph 3:20).  David was a man of strength, wisdom and loved by all.  He had everything life could offer.  Yet, he still experienced moments of pain, loneliness and hardships.  However, he kept on calling out to God and was restored as he met with God.

I know all the above sounds depressing to many reading this article, but is this not our lives most of the times?  This is why this article came up in my heart.  We are constantly going about the same procedure day after day, facing life’s challenges and making it the norm.  This is not what I believe we are destined for.  God has given His children who follow Him wholeheartedly, abundant prosperity (Deut 28:1-14) and a right to reign.  This means a long and healthy life full of energy, love and not lacking anything.  Amen!  I don’t know about you, but this is what I want.  I want to live forever, with the Holy Spirit breathing inside of me.  Yes, I will grow older gracefully, but my spirit, oh my spirit will never die and never grow old.  It says in 2 Cor 4:16 “therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day.”  Hallelujah!

So let us stand up, put on the full armor of God (Eph 6 10 – 24) and face this world with a confidence knowing that in spirit we will remain forever young.  Enjoy life and even if mud is thrown in your face, stand up, rise above it and move on.  You have a purpose (Jer 29:11) and nothing will conquer us (Rom 8:37) if we remain in Christ and Christ in us.  Amen

Be forever young!

With lots of love in Jesus Name

Princess K

PS:  Dear reader, please remember that the scripture used are from the New International Version.  If the scripture is read in another language and translation it might differ slightly.  A verse in the NIV might be a different one in your Bible, i.e. Ps 37:3 in the NIV might be Ps 37:4 in your bible.  This does not always occur, but happens in some instances.
