Father in the name of Jesus, I declare that You are my God and that I serve no other God but You!  Amen!  Jesus Christ, You are my Saviour and You reign in my heart and in my life.  Amen!  Holy Spirit, I am lost without You.  You guide my every step and without You, my heart is empty.  Amen!

Thinking back about twelve years ago, we were living in Cape Town, South Africa in a suburb called Sun Valley in a 3 bedroom duplex.  We received word that we would be transferred to work in Pretoria, hence the house was put in the market.  We waited and waited and really needed the house to sell in order to purchase a house in Pretoria.  My husband was waiting for me in Pretoria and I was due to meet up with him, having to look for a house in just one week.  Still the house did not sell but we did receive word that we should buy a house for R350 000.  We had such a long list of requirements to what we wanted our house to look like and were very excited about the move.  However without having an offer for our house in Cape Town, we could not sign any offer to purchase in Pretoria.  My heart was pounding, the ticket was paid and by 20:00 the night prior to my departure for Pretoria we still did not have an offer.

I knew that above all else, God had a master plan and I had to trust Him unconditionally.  That same night at about 20:30, I received a phone call from the house agent, saying that the there was an offer on our house for an incredible price.  I remember bursting into tears as our God, like always, came through for us.  Yes, I expected it long before the ticket was even booked for the flight to Pretoria, I expected it prior to packing for Pretoria as the first appointment with house agents in Pretoria was the next morning.  However God had other plans and my faith was tested like never before.  God came through for me, even after we made the bookings in faith.  I just want to add that the house God gave us in Pretoria, met all our dreams and more.  Praise God!  Amen!

Today as I am writing to you I realise how many times we pray and ask God for something very serious and time bound because of other critical circumstances coupled to the decision.  Never has my God not answered me.  He answered me through the Word, through a message given to other people for me and even silence; but never did He not answer me.  Let us take a look at a reference in the Bible where it happened where God did not answer at the date and time He was required by man, but where He did answer on time, even after man’s due date.  We read of the story of Lazarus in John 11, where Jesus received word from Mary and Martha that their brother Lazarus was sick and that He had to come to them.

However, Jesus only left for Judea, two days later.  On his arrival Jesus found that Lazarus was already in the tomb for four days.  Martha went up to Jesus and said that if Jesus was there, Lazarus would not have died.  As we continue to read, the story unfolds where Jesus raises Lazarus and after four days in the tomb, Lazarus came out of the grave.  Dear reader here we read how God even after Lazarus’ death, brought him to life.  You see God is never late, but always on time, even after man’s due date has lapsed.

Dear reader, what is it that you are praying about?  What is it that you are trusting God to give you an answer for, especially where there are time constraints involved?  I want to encourage you to keep faith, pray earnestly and continuously with prayer and petition to God and trust Him unconditionally.  He will not ignore you.  He will answer you in His time, even after what you would have thought would be too late.  Remember with Lazarus’ story we read that Jesus knew that Lazarus was only asleep and that he did not die.

Jesus says in John 11:4 – 11: “this sickness will not end in death.  No, it is for God’s glory so that God’s Son may be glorified through it…….our friend Lazarus has fallen asleep….”  You see dear reader, God knows things that you do not know.  He sees the future, which we do not see and therefore when we stand in Him, we need to trust Him unconditionally.  Hallelujah!

I end of by saying to you today.  Do not be discouraged or dismayed if you’re are praying and not necessarily seeing the results as yet.  Whether it is for a loved one to be saved, finances, a car, a house, a business decision or anything of importance in your life, trust God, he will not fail you, even if it is after your due date.

Lots of love

Princess K

PS:  Dear reader, please remember that the scripture used are from the New International Version.  If the scripture is read in another language and translation it might differ slightly.  A verse in the NIV might be a different one in your Bible, i.e. Ps 37:3 in the NIV might be Ps 37:4 in your bible.  This does not always occur, but happens in some instances.
