Father, I glorify You!  Jesus Christ, I worship You!  Holy Spirit You reign in my heart!  Amen!

The first article for 2015 and what an honour it is to write to you again. The festive season has been a blessing, just like every day of my life because Jesus is alive in me!  Praise God!  Amen

As I was spending time resting over the holiday period, the word “closer” came up in my mind and after I prayed about it, it was confirmed in my heart as a message for 2015.  Please allow me to share this message of truth with you as I believe that it will change your life forever.

I read a quote saying “why do we close our eyes when we pray, cry, kiss and dream?  Because the most beautiful things in life are not seen but felt only by heart.”  These words touched me deeply because I do experience that when I pray and close my eyes there is a deeper connection with God.  I don’t pray because I have to, but because I love to.  I do pray with my eyes open many times and I still feel a deep connection with God, but it is because I am in a close relationship with Him and can therefore feel His presence all the time.

He is not a far-away God to me. Jesus lives in my heart through the Holy Spirit and therefore I feel and experience Him close to me, 24 hours a day.  Do you feel close to God or only when you pray or praise Him in church?  Is your prayer just to say thank you and to ask something or is it a deep conversation with Jesus?  He wants to spend time with you; so whichever way, He is thrilled and it makes His heart beat when you call on Him.  However, trust me when you are in a relationship with Him and talk to Him all the time that closeness results in you feeling His heartbeat and hearing His voice with your heart.  Hallelujah!  If you are not experiencing this yet, it is time to come closer to God!

My next question to you is do you feel far from God and why?  I know that many people turn from God or even say God left them, because He has not come through for them.  He did not protect them from an armed robbery, their loved ones were taken from them through violence, a car accident or an illness like cancer.  Dear reader, God is true to His Word and He says in Joshua 1:5 “….I will never leave you nor forsake you.”  Do you know what never means?  It means never ever!  Amen!  God is close by all the time and even when you turn your back on Him, He is standing right there looking at you.  You see God is omnipresent, which means that there is no place to which God’s knowledge and power do not extend.

Psalm 139:7 – 10 says “where can I go from Your Spirit?  Where can I flee from Your presence?  If I go up to the heavens, you are there, if I make my bed in the depths, You are there.”  I know it hurts when God says NO!  I know it hurts when God did not intervene in traumatic experiences.  We do not have all the answers to why things happened the way they did.  However, remember there were many instances in your life if you look back and think clearly, when He did protect you, did save you and did come through for you in the way you wanted.

Think about it……it is true.  So yes, there are times when He says NO!  There are times He does not intervene, but remember God gave us all a free choice and therefore when there is hurt because of a human making a wrong choice, it was caused by a human.  Remember, God loves us and gave us all the gift of choice.  This amazing gift of choice allows us to decide what we want and don’t want to do, where we want to live and what we prefer to eat etc.  Then again, we all make wrong choices and if God intervened every time, I think He would have by now taken away that free gift from us all and then we would be like robots.

I know it is not easy and that does not answer why innocent people die or children are being raped and killed.  I don’t have those answers, but I trust my God who holds the universe in His hands.  Whether I get angry with Him or not, push Him away or not, He will not leave me and life will go on, for He has a greater purpose and plan that our human minds cannot fathom.  However, by coming closer to Him, seeking His heart, He will bring peace and forgiveness where needed and will also reveal to us what we need to know and see for the now and the future.  If you want answers in life, you should not move away from God, you should be moving closer to Him.

I don’t know how to move closer to God!  If that is what you are thinking I want to encourage you that by taking just one little step, it will be the beginning of a wonderful journey with God.  He knows everything that you have done, what you are doing now and what you will still do.  He is interested in your heart and your commitment to Him.  All you have to do is give your heart to Him by saying “Jesus please come and live in my heart and take over my life forever.”  Forgive me for the sins that I have committed and help me to make right with people, whilst living your dream for my life.”

The blood of Jesus saved all of us already thousands of years ago when Jesus died for us on the cross.  Do you want that victory over your life; every area of your life?  Then, now is the time to move closer to the Lord.  Give Him your heart, your life, your choices and start living the life Jesus expects from you in the Bible.  Bring your family to that same place of salvation and see how your life will change forever.  The best thing a man or woman can do for their loved ones, is to bring them closer to a God who is omnipresent, loves unconditionally, forgives, saves and gives life eternal.

If you do serve Jesus Christ and are still not feeling His presence 24 hours a day, it is time to examine what is the challenge from your side.  We already know that God is omnipresent and that he does not remove Himself from us.  So search your heart and look at the choices you are making.  Also look at the time you study the Word and with what you keep yourself busy with.  Is it all in line with God’s Word and will for your life?  If no, then let it go!  Sometimes it is something very simple.  Whatever it may be, come closer to God.  Stand right next to Him, not far away.  “The closer you walk with God, the less room for anything to come between.”

Dear reader, remember that “you are as close to God as you choose to be,” so in all that you do, do it in order to move closer to Him.  His promise for you today is in Ps 91:4 which says “He will cover you with His feathers, and under His wings you will find refuge; His faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.”  Receive it, believe it and live it!  Amen!

I trust that this Word is touching your heart today and that you will choose right by moving closer to God.  Jesus must be the obsession of your heart.  Come closer to Him and hear His story for your life!

Lots of love

Princess K

PS:  Dear reader, please remember that the scripture used are from the New International Version.  If the scripture is read in another language and translation it might differ slightly.  A verse in the NIV might be a different one in your Bible, i.e. Ps 37:3 in the NIV might be Ps 37:4 in your bible.  This does not always occur, but happens in some instances.
