Father God, I stand before You in worship as You are above all and everything in this world.  Thank You for saving me and thank You that You called me by name to be Your daughter.  Jesus, You are my life and best friend.  Holy Spirit, You are my every breath.  Amen!

As a daughter of the King, I realise every day how blessed I am.  I have Jesus in my heart and my whole family are in personal relationships with Christ.  We have jobs and earn good salaries.  We are warm, safe and never lack anything to eat.  We have our own transport and many friends who also serve Christ.  I have had a good education from childhood and now at the age of 44, I still have the opportunity to be educated and trained.  I look at my life and think…….what more would anyone want?  I give God the glory for my life and the successes I have had and still experience every day.  Amen!

In the Bible, we read about Joseph in the book of Genesis (Chapters 37 – 50).  Joseph was one of 12 brothers and when reading through his life story it is very clear that he knew who he was in Christ.  He was bold, honest and very confident.  His relationship with God was very special and God spoke to Him in his dreams.  So, Joseph was very happy and blessed and his brothers knew that, hence they threw him in a pit and sold him to the Midianite merchants.  They in turn sold him in Egypt to Potiphar, one of Pharaoh’s officials.

Now Joseph was a son of God and therefore the Lord was with him.  Because of that, Joseph prospered in everything he did.  He lived in the house of the Egyptian master and became his attendant.  Why?  Because, Potiphar could see that Lord gave Joseph success in everything he did and he knew that whatever he entrusted to Joseph would be blessed because Joseph was blessed by the Lord.  We continue to see how Joseph prospered, even when he was falsely accused and put in prison.

There the warden put Joseph in charge of all those held in prison and again seeing how the Lord gave success to Joseph, the warden paid no attention to anything under Joseph’s care.  As we continue to read, we see how Joseph interpreted Pharaoh’s dreams and how he was put in charge of Pharaoh’s palace and subsequently the whole land of Egypt.  Throughout the story of Joseph, his brothers and father came to Egypt, the family was restored and lived without lacking anything.  Joseph died at the age of 110 and saw the third generation of his son Ephraim’s children.  He lived a blessed life until the day God took him home.

Dear reader, what an amazing, true story of a man who was blessed by God in everything he did.  When I read this passage again, I realised that in Christ, we are sons and daughters of the King and just like Joseph, the Lord is with us.  Having the Lord with us means that we are blessed and because we are blessed we should have success in everything we do.  So, I look at my own life again.  I realise that Jesus is my life and because I have chosen Him, He is in me, around me and with me all the time.  Hence, that is why my life is fully blessed and successful.  I am confident and bold in Christ.

I lack nothing and whatever I start, I finish with success.  Why?  Because God is in control of my heart, my thoughts and my actions.  Having to make decisions, I consult Him.  Choosing friends, I base it on whether they are also in relationship with Christ.  Yes I am appointed to serve all, but in my free time I choose to spend it with others in Christ who build me up.  Sure, I am human so I do make mistakes.  However, because I have the Holy Spirit in my heart, He convicts me, I repent and move on towards the goals set for me.  So reading about Joseph, I again realised why my life is successful.  I am not saying this to boast for I boast only in the Lord who is my success.

I also realised that Joseph went through difficult times and God did not remove those times, however he blessed him in those times.  In prison, it was not easy, but still Joseph lacked nothing.  Life is not always easy but in Christ you will lack nothing and you will be successful.  What we often tend to do though, is to measure success by our possessions and it is so much more than that.

The question today is, is Jesus your everything?  Have you given Him your heart and is He in control of all your decisions?  What are you busy with and who are you sharing your life with?  Is it people in Christ who build you up or people of the world, who drag you down?  This is not a judgement call and neither a trip of guilt.  No, it is completely and honestly from my heart today to say that when in Christ, we should be experiencing success in everything we do.  As sons and daughters of the King, the blessings of God in Deuteronomy 28 is poured out on us.

We are forgiven, free, righteous and lack nothing.  Does life throw challenges at us?  For sure!  Satan is not asleep, in fact 1 Pet 5:8 – 9 says “be alert and of sober mind.  Your enemy, the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.  Resist him, standing firm in the faith.”  He will attack and there will be difficult times when he does, but if in Christ, he cannot overcome you unless you allow him to.  If you are not in Christ I urge you to give your life to Him.  This is where your Godly success begins.

If you have not given your life to Jesus, go on your knees and pray a simple prayer from your heart by asking Him to take over your heart and your life.  Ask Him to renew your mind.  Give Him every challenge and ask Him to guide your steps and decisions to make your life what He wants it to be.  Ask God to forgive you in Jesus name, for all the sins you have committed and forgive those that have sinned against you.

Let go of the wrong things in your life and find a church and new friends who are in relationship with Christ.  If God could save the sinner on the cross who committed murder and Saul who handed Christians over to be killed, He can save you.  Then, make sure that you make decisions that glorifies God, spend much time in the Word of God and in prayer with Him.  Hear His heart for your life and live that life to the full.  In all successes stay humble for God is your success.

Dear reader, in conclusion remember that when in Christ, stand firm, choose right and don’t give in to the pressures of the world.  You are blessed and you are successful in Christ.  Hence, whatever you do and wherever you go, that blessing goes with you.  Use it wisely to honour God.

Lots of love,  Princess K
