YOUR KINGDOM ON EARTH – Part 2
This is the second part to a 2-part article, titled, Your Kingdom on Earth. Part 1 focused on Psalm 139 and addressed our identity and authority in Christ and reminded us of the kingdoms that God has given to us to reign in, like family, friends, workplace, follow-believers, neighbourhood, community, men and women on the street and therefore, people all over the world. If God has given us kingdoms to reign in, then why are so many people not in control of their lives? Click here to read Part One.
To me, I divide people into three groups. There are those who have never accepted Jesus Christ as their Saviour, so they live in this world as slaves, being controlled by their past, ill health, poverty, lies, power, money, fear, anxiety, stress, sexual immorality etc. These people think they are in control of their lives, but in fact, they are controlled by worldly factors. They need to break free from the law of sin and death (Romans 8:2), accepting Jesus Christ as their Saviour.
The second group are the people whom have already given their hearts to Jesus, who have been set free from the law of sin and death (Romans 8:2) but who are not living their true identity and freedom in Christ. They have still not come to realise that God has destined them to reign in kingdoms that He had entrusted to them. Therefore, instead of being in control through the power of Christ in them, they allow other things to take control, like for example unforgiveness and fear. These things are blessing blockers and need to be broken in the name of Jesus Christ. Otherwise, it will consume the person, take control and reign in their kingdom.
Let us remember that once we have broken with the past, it is done and is exactly what it says, the past (2 Corinthians 5:17). Did it happen? Yes! Can it steal your kingdom? No! It is yours, paid for by the blood of Jesus. However, it can take over control of your kingdom, if you do not reign with the authority God has given you through Jesus Christ. Then, you are still a slave in your own kingdom, instead of being the one who reigns. The good news is, at any time, when you come to realise this, you can go to Jesus, ask forgiveness, break the chains in Jesus name, and take back the control. Never ever, hand over control.
The third group, are those who are saved in Christ, know their true identity in Jesus, know what kingdoms God has given them and even reign in them with authority and control. All good and well, but if they are not under the constant mentorship of God, the guidance of the Holy Spirit and in the power of the Word, then one of two things might happen. They could become so obsessed with power and control, and instead of staying humble in Christ, they start misusing their authority to trample on people. The second thing is that people become content, which to me, is a danger zone.
Whilst we reign, we should be alert for God says in 1 Peter 5:8: “Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.“ Therefore, whilst we reign in the kingdoms that God has entrusted to us, let us be awake in the spirit, continually, praying the blood of Jesus over us and what God has entrusted to us, and call in the protection of God’s angels around us. We must make sure that we are ready to defend our kingdoms, at any given time. Therefore, we need to make sure that our weapon (Ephesians 6 – The Sword – The Word of God) to fight the enemies with are sharpened and ready to be pulled at any given time.
Dear reader, my question is, in which group do you fall? It is time for us to face reality. Time is running out and with so many terrible things happening around us, one realise how many people have not met Jesus, many are not in a personal relationship with Him and many has therefore, not taken up their true identity and authority in Christ. If we do not reign in our own kingdoms, as destined by God, something or someone else will. They will slowly move in and gradually start taking over control and then, once again, making you a slave in our own kingdom. It is time to take up our roles and reign in our kingdoms, in humbleness, servanthood and under the mentorship of God Almighty. Amen!
Who is in control of your kingdom? If you need to make changes, today is the day! If you have never given your heart to Jesus, make Him the Saviour of your soul today. Click here to accept Jesus into your life right now. If you are in Christ already and you have given over the control of your kingdom, then in the name of Jesus Christ and by the blood of Jesus, take it back under the mentorship of Jesus Christ. He is the best coach, councillor, advocate, guide, listener and victory expert that you can ever ask for.
If you are already reigning in your kingdoms, make sure to stay alert and ready, empowered with the Word of God, to stand up against anyone or anything, that wants to attack and steal your kingdom.
Love in Christ, Princess K
