Why DO or DON’T you want to follow Jesus?
Do you know why you made the choice? Have you made the choice and do you know why you should?
Some seek God because their lives came to the point where they can’t hold it together anymore and when all else fails they think they should “give God a try.” Some seek God because they are afraid that maybe there is a hell and they wouldn’t want to go there. Some look for Him because their lives feel meaningless and that maybe God will be the answer.
Some refuse to follow Jesus because they are happy with their lives and they don’t feel they need Him. Some ignore God because they have something or someone else they worship like money drugs or sex. Some want to but, know that they would have to change their way of living in order to please God and because of that they don’t. Some simply just don’t believe.
People have many reasons for seeking God or not seeking God. Do you know what your reason is and do you know what your reason should be?
Do not wait until your life falls apart before you give it to Him, do it now! Even if you think you don’t or will ever need Him, without Him you WILL lose your final battle. You will only get so far until the day you die and then nothing you do will save you, not your money not your fame or anything else.
Seek God because of His love, mercy, forgiveness, guidance, righteousness and all the beauty He can bring to your life, all the promises He has given you and the sacrifice He made for you to have life.
Don’t seek Him because of your fear for death; seek Him because of His love for your LIFE!
If you seek Him because your life feels meaningless, seek Him and don’t stop. He gave you your life and with that a plan, He has plans to prosper you, He sees beauty in you, He means for you to be strong and courageous in and for His name. He is your creator and He is proud of you being His creation.
If you don’t want to change the life you are living or whatever you are a slave to, whether it’s money or anything else. You should sit down and really think, think of what your life will bring you in the end and what your ways is making you richer of. If you are a slave to addiction and you do not want to let go, then that is what you are worshiping. Where will that take you? I can tell you where Jesus will. You will find peace in His presence, comfort and love. You will experience His power in your life if you give it to Him, He will renew you, He will complete you and above all He will save you from a battle you will NEVER win on your own, He will hold your life and death will not defeat you.
If you do not believe, then go back to the reason you made that decision in the first place. Look at your reasons and question your own questions. Maybe you are not asking the right questions, maybe you have too little reason NOT to believe. Stop trying to prove that He does not exist and try and see if He does, I can promise you, you will find a whole lot more proof than you think.
If you have not yet made that decision, do not waste another day! He loves you, He made you, He has a beautiful plan for your life, He can give you freedom, He is the almighty God and in Him and in Him alone will you find your salvation.
Psalm 46. – God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging. There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, the holy place where the Most High dwells. God is within her, she will not fall; God will help her at break of day. Nations are in uproar, kingdoms fall; he lifts his voice, the earth melts. The Lord Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress. Come and see what the Lord has done, the desolations he has brought on the earth. He makes wars cease to the ends of the earth. He breaks the bow and shatters the spear; he burns the shields with fire. He says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.” The Lord Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress.
