Do you believe in Jesus Christ? Would you call yourself a child of God? If people ask you if you a Christian, would you say yes? I would like to believe that most of you reading this article would say yes to these questions wouldn’t you? Since you do believe in Jesus Christ and call yourself a child of God and a Christian, what do you do to make others see it? When you in a group of people who do not believe in Jesus Christ, would you tell them about Jesus? If you in a group of people who uses His name for other reasons than talking good about him, do you just stand there or do you act on it?

If your answer to these questions would be that you walk away or simply keep quiet then I would like to ask you if you think that what you doing is what Jesus would have done? I strongly believe that we should not be shy to let others see how we feel about the One who hanged on a cross for us, who went through so much pain and who bled so much that he ended up dying and doing so for US. It is because of Jesus that we are all free today, isn’t it?

I know that many people, especially those within a working or school environment, would now say that it is easier said than done. Yes, maybe it is easier said than done but then again, maybe we also need to realize that nothing in life is easy and if we are willing to go through pain to enjoy earthly things, why can we not go through a bit of “humiliation” for Jesus so that we can all enjoy and share in the eternal life?

You see my friends; it’s not really humiliating, it’s an honour, since all of us one day would love to stand before God hoping that we will enter through the gate of life, now wouldn’t we? Do you really understand what Jesus went through for you and me, the pain he had to go through, the humiliation and the suffering? Maybe it is time to see what Jesus did for us and give a little by letting our light shine, maybe it is time to take the lamp out under the table and let it go into its stand where it belongs so that the whole world, all our friends and family, can see that we love Jesus and through that touch the lives of many other people. Maybe it’s time to give Jesus the glory he deserves!

Taking our lamps out under the table and lighting up the room around it does mean that we must stand up for what we believe in when it comes to Jesus Christ, showing the people around us that we love Him. It also means that we need to live in such a way that Jesus can shine through us. Jesus needs you today to take your lamp out under the table and show the world that you love Him and through that touch the people around you so that they can also share in the victory of eternal life! My question to you today: “Where is your lamp standing and are you sure that it is standing in such a place that other can see the real you, that they can see the love you have for Jesus?

“You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven. Matt 5 verse 14-16 For if any man has a feeling of shame because of me or of my words, the Son of man will have shame because of him when he comes in his glory and the glory of the Father and of the holy angels.
