Father God, Holy be Your Name! Jesus Christ, I love You with all my heart. Thank you for rescuing me. Holy Spirit, You reign in my heart and in my life. Amen!
In this week so many things have happened to me, which made me think again. My loving husband and best friend on earth had to go away for work and being alone, it made me wonder, what if he never returns? Then there was a special aunt, who nearly lost her life after a stroke, and again I was challenged with what if she didn’t make it? Furthermore, over the last year, I have heard about so many women who have been challenged with breast cancer and it made me think, what if?
As I was listening to the voice of God on what to write about in this article, I experienced that many people are confronted with, what if? What if I don’t get promoted or what if my marriage does not work out. Perhaps you are asking the question around your finances or in your relationships. You might be challenged with a health situation and are thinking, but what if? Talking from my own experiences, I want to tell you that to say what if, is nothing else but doubt. Doubt in God’s power to forgive, bless and provide in any given situation. James 1: 6 – 7 says: “but when he asks, he must believe and not doubt, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind.
That man should not think he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all he does.” So God does not want us to doubt, but to believe in Him. So where does it start. If any doubt comes up in your mind, talk to Jesus about it. Share your innermost feelings and concerns with Him and after handing it over to Him, stand back and believe that He will choose for you and will guide you in the way you should go. This is where faith steps in because although your circumstances might not show improvement, you need to start proclaiming victory and speak of the miracles in your life as if it has already happened, because it has. God works in our lives, even though it does not look like it to us and when you least expect it, He WILL answer and provide. This is a promise, if you believe (John 14:1 and John 15:7 *NIV Bible).
Let me tell you what else is on my mind; what if you don’t know Christ? What if you have never invited Him to take over your life? What if you know Him, but do not have a relationship with Him? Do you know what that means? This is really serious, because if you don’t know Him and do not have a relationship with Him, you are lost dear reader! I know the words I have written here is harsh and you might think that I am judging you, but this not true. If this is how you feel, then maybe there is something that you are feeling guilty about. I am just saying that without Christ in your life, heaven is not your destiny and if heaven is not your destiny, then where are you going when life on earth comes to an end for you? I am sorry dear reader if these words are to direct and it makes you feel uncomfortable, but I am writing as the Holy Spirit of God is telling me to do. So I ask you again, what if?
I want to tell you that it is never too late whilst still alive, to make things right with God. All He wants from you is to turn your heart over to Him. You see, it does not matter to Him where you live, work or the way you have messed up in your life. It does not even matter to Him how many times you lied or pushed Him away. The only thing that matters to Him, is your heart and where you will be going once you let out your last breath. He only wants your heart, your love and your commitment to honour Him in every aspect of your life. From there onwards, He takes over and all the challenges in your life, He will take care of. All the pain and heartache, is His to deal with on behalf of you. Dear reader, I was there, I was at a stage in my life, when everything was confused and although I lived, I was actually dead inside. You don’t have to feel like this, allow Jesus to enter and rescue you from what if? (Jer 29: 11 – 14 *NIV Bible).
I pray that you will think about what God is saying to you right now. If you do know Him and have a relationship with Him, remember stop doubting, stop asking what if and believe that He who died and rose again is in control of your life, if you let Him be. If you don’t have a personal relationship with Jesus, you have two choices. One, you could continue with your life the way you have been doing, thinking it is enough. But then all I am asking you, is what if He comes back today and you are not ready? Secondly, you could choose to no longer postpone and to make a choice right now to invite Him into your heart. If you choose the latter, pray and ask Jesus to come into your heart, to take over your life and to forgive you for all the sins you have committed. Then, receive His forgiveness and live by faith and without what if?
What will you choose today?
With lots of love in Jesus Name
Princess K
