Walking with Jesus 2018 Updates
Brackenfell (Cape Town) – 29 January 2018
Today was the start of our Walking with Jesus 2018 Project, which happened in Brackenfell, Cape Town. We walked the street of Brackenfell for about 2 hours where we prayed for the sick and talked to people about Jesus. One guy we prayed for had a serious problem in his one eye and were in a lot of pain and after praying for him, the pain was gone and his eye healed. Praise God! We also prayed for a Lady who have struggled with cancer for very long. We also prayed for others who were in need of a jobs and finances. The day ended with a special praying for Cape Town and its people. Glory to God!
Montagu (Western Cape): 1 – 11 February 2018
The Lord did amazing work in the small, but beautiful town. The first day was dedicated to walking the streets of Montagu, praying for the general public. We saw many miracles happen as the Lord touched the lives of the people of Montagu.
A man who had a stroke and lost the use of his one arm, were healed. A lady who had a serious back problem and struggled to walk danced after all the pain in her back disappeared. Another man with brain cancer who were in terrible pain, left without any pain. The list of miracles just goes on and on. We are indeed amazed how much healing took place in such a small space of time. How great is our God! Hallelujah! All glory to God. We continued to see miracles happen during our time in Montagu.
We also visited a few schools in the area, prayed for the principals and talked about bullying, which is currently a serious challenge we have in South African Schools. Wherever we went and wherever we stayed, we talked to people about Jesus and prayed for them, while some accepted Jesus into their lives for the first time. The Montagu visit ended on a farm, where we prayed for farmers and farm workers.
We would like to thank Guano Cave Resort and Protea Farm for providing us with accommodation, while on mission in Montagu. May God touch and bless you and your business. A big thank you to Mareletta and Dia from Montagu Tourism for all their help. Thank you to the people of Montagu who really made our trip so awesome. We really fell in love with you and your town. Thank you for all of those who prayed with us for the first leg of our trip. Please do continue to pray as we travel throughout South Africa.
Oudtshoorn (Western Cape): 12 – 17 February 2018
The second leg of our Walking with Jesus project ended today and therefore we would like to give you a summary of what we did. The Oudtshoorn leg started with meeting some local Church leaders, getting a better idea of the town and its people. We then tried to setup meetings with the school principals, contacting 4 different schools. The idea was to speak at the schools about bullying and alcohol abuse, but this never happened.
We very quickly learned about the challenges the town face, when it comes to the Gospel. There are a few court cases against some of the schools in the town, simply because they allow the “teaching” of the Gospel. We also learned about other similar cases, but not against the schools. We also learned that there is a big increase in numbers of atheists in the town who not only fight against Christian practices, but also block Christian speakers from coming into Oudtshoorn, spreading the Gospel of Jesus.
Then there are other organizations, also growing strong, which “fights” for the other side and who also fight against Christian practices. We have heard from MANY people in this town that there are a lot of division, even in Church, which by the way is also shrinking in number of attendees. Clearly there are a lot of forces at work in this beautiful and blessed town. I must also say that we have learned of a great number of powerful Christians the Lord is sending to Oudtshoorn and therefore I know that the Lord has already started to do great things here and He WILL be victorious! Praise God!
Even though we struggled here and faced many challenges, we still achieved a lot! Many people were touched and changed by Jesus, not to even mention those who accepted Jesus into their lives for the first time ever. Hallelujah! Thank you, Jesus, Praise God! I also need to say that there are a lot of people in this town who do serve the Lord with all their hearts. Please pray with us for these people, as they really need our prayers. Please also pray for this town and its Churches in general.
During our stay in Oudtshoorn, we visited Huis Triomf, a special Children’s Home, where we talked to the kids about bullying and alcohol abuse and blessed them with snack packs. We also walked the streets of Oudtshoorn many times, with our Walking with Jesus flag, and prayed for MANY, including the municipal police. We also visited the office of the Mayor and even though we could not meet with him, we got to pray for his staff. We also did a lot of praying in the Spirit for the town.
The most powerful story we want to share is the story of Johannes, which we believe Jesus healed. Johannes at first did not look like he really wanted to talk, but he then shared with us about him suffering with TB. We prayed for him twice and the pain in his lungs disappeared instantly, this after feeling intense heat on his back where we touched him. Johannes then shared with us that he always thought that when people said they experienced Jesus, that it could not be true, but that today he knows it IS true, as he experienced and felt Jesus so strongly. Johannes then chose to accept Jesus into his life for the first time ever. We left Johannes with a big smile and tears running from his face.
Our Oudtshoorn leg ended today with praying for many in the towns of Dysseldorp, De Rust and Klaarstroom. We are now in Beaufort West, where we will take a few days off to rest, after which we plan to walk the streets of Beaufort West, pray for many, speak at schools and pray for the Mayor. Thank you to Kleinplaas (www.kleinplaas.co.za) for providing us with accommodation. You guys are awesome, and we really enjoyed staying with you.
Please keep us in your prayers. God bless you.
BEAUFORT WEST (WESTERN CAPE): 23 FEB – 28 FEB 18
When we arrived in Beaufort West, we really felt bad in the spirit, knowing that the town is going to be very challenging. We very quickly learned from MANY locals that the town have serious crime problems, coupled with gangsterism, drug and alcohol abuse. We could also clearly see how poverty affected the community and that so many people were without a job.
We planned ahead of our visit and tried to setup meetings with various schools and also the Mayor, but only one school allowed us access. The other schools and the Mayor showed absolutely no interest. This of cause did not stop us from praying for them, without their presence or having access. It was heartbreaking to see how such a small town had so many challenges.
Due to us both being attacked with a tummy bug, we were limited to what we could do in the town, but we still did a lot. Praise God! We prayed for many, but many followed us, asking US for prayer, which is something that did not happen in any of the other towns. Most of those asking for prayer, were job related. We also took time to not only pray for people, but to talk to them, to hear their hearts and their stories. We really shared some Jesus love with the people of Beaufort West.
I would like to share two prayer stories with you. Stanley, 76 years of age, were struggling to walk, even with his crutches. Months ago, Stanley fell badly and hurt his knee. We prayed for him a few times and after each prayer his smile got bigger, and his leg moved more easily. Stanley eventually was able to get up and walk again without any pain! Praise Jesus! Hallelujah! The other prayer story is where we talked with a Muslim guy for a long time, and it ended with him allowing us to pray for him. Praise God!
The last night of our stay was dedicated to spoiling farmworkers in the area with a nice, cooked meal and desert. They also received a special word from Philippians 4, Bibles and Christian magazines and books. We dedicated a lot of time to also hear their stories and things they are challenged with daily. The night ended in prayer.
We would like to thank Steenbokkie Nature Reserve for sponsoring us with accommodation during our stay in Beaufort West. You can visit their website here: www.steenbokkie.co.za. I also want to mention that unfortunately we cannot always post all photos, since many people do not want us to take pictures of them. Thank you for your prayers and support! Please continue to pray for us.
GRAAFF REINET (EASTERN CAPE): 28 FEB – 1 MARCH 2018
The past few days we reached out to the people of Graaff Reinet, a small town in the Eastern Cape. The people of Graaff Reinet were very friendly and the town is indeed a beautiful place. From day one we felt welcome and felt the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ, making things a lot easier for us. We could clearly see that the people of Graaff Reinet, loves Jesus. We only had one incident where an old man not only said no for prayer, but turned his back on us, shouting out that he does not believe the Jesus nonsense and we must stop talking to him immediately. We still blessed him and prayed for him as he walked away.
The Graaff Reinet outreaches were powerful, and we saw great miracles happen, people turning to Jesus for the first time and many prophecies been spoken. We also handed out flyers, and where people accepted Jesus into their lives, we gave them Bibles. We have one specific story we would like to share, and this is where we prayed for someone for healing and then others came to us, asking for prayer. We saw 3 people being healed right in front of our eyes, one bursting into tears of joy, while the others could not believe their eyes and started to tell the other people around them what happened. At the same time a man came and put his head on my shoulder, telling me that I will know what I need to pray for. The Lord then showed me to pray for his lungs and the man hugged me and then left in tears, tears of joy.
The last day of our visit, we prayed over the town from a place called Valley of Desolation. At that very moment the Holy Spirit revealed how angels are sitting on each mountain around the town, forming a circle, and then pouring the light of God onto the town, covering each corner, spreading the love of Jesus over and into everyone, pushing the dark out. This was so amazing! The last day ended with us praying for the staff at Camdeboo National Park, which were once again a great moment of prophecies.
Today we arrived in Aliwal North, but on our way to here, we stopped and prayed for people in Middelburg, Steynsburg and Burgersdorp, which included praying for Councillor Matthee in Burgersdorp, which is indeed one of our missions, to pray for our politicians and leaders. One lady we prayed for in Steynsburg also revealed that what we prophesised on her life is exactly what she prayed for to the Lord and the Lord today gave her confirmation.
We will now spend 3 days in Aliwal North, after which we will leave for Bethlehem. We will be walking the streets of Aliwal North tomorrow, so if you stay in this town, please do join us. Thank you so much for your prayers, it is making a difference! I want to thank Jesus for the great work that He is doing on this trip. Jesus you are worthy, and we worship you, Lord. Jesus, you are our provider, you are our healer, you are our future. We thank you Jesus. Hallelujah! ALL GLORY TO GOD!
ALIWAL NORTH (EASTERN CAPE): 1 – 4 MARCH 2018
Hi all, herewith our weekly town update, this time from our visit in Aliwal North. Aliwal North, which I call Pothole North, is a small town on the banks of the Orange River, a town with friendly people and who loves Jesus. We tried to visit schools and meet with the Mayor, but this without any success. We did however pray for many and took the time to talk with them, hearing their stories. The town is also struggling with serious poverty and a huge unemployment rate.
We walked the streets of Aliwal North, this time focusing on praying for the youth and giving them words of hope. We also handed out Bibles and flyers to many, speaking to them about Jesus. We were amazed to see how many people in this small town knew nothing about Jesus. What was also amazing is how many people came to us for prayer, having so much faith in Jesus for healing. On our way back to our car the one day, a lady stopped us and said that she heard about us praying for people in town and asked if we would please come and pray for her son, who lives in the informal settlement. The lady was in tears and had so much faith, that she walked around town to look for us.
Her son was born with an eye disease and are unable to see clearly, in fact, he can hardly see anything. We prayed for him many times, but nothing happened, well that was until he told us that he is feeling the most incredible feeling inside of him, he can feel the love of Jesus. Wow, let me tell you, sometimes it is not about being healed, sometimes it’s more than that, sometimes it’s even better than healing itself. The mother was full of tears the whole time and the young man was filled with so much Jesus love.
Jesus most definitely not only touched many people in Aliwal North, but he touched US, and I was close to tears many times. What an awesome God we serve! This leg of the Walking with Jesus Project ended with us travelling through the towns of Rouxville, Zastron, Wepener, Ladybrand, Clocolan, Ficksburg and Fouriesburg, before we arrived in Bethlehem, which is where we will spend the next 3 nights. We stopped in all these town, prayed for people and for the towns in general.
Thank you for your continued support and prayer. Thank you to Sondela B&B (http://www.sondelabnbaliwal.co.za/) for the big discount on our accommodation. May God bless you and your business Sandra! We want to thank Jesus for this opportunity and for providing us with accommodation, fuel and food at all times. Jesus you are so true to your Word. Thank you! God bless you all.
BETHLEHEM (FREE STATE): 4 – 9 MARCH 2018
I am excited to bring you the weekly town update, this time the Bethlehem leg of our Walking with Jesus Project. Bethlehem were indeed one of the most beautiful towns we have visited so far, and the people were incredibly friendly. We did however get a lot of people who didn’t want us to pray for them, which was indeed strange.
We did not see a lot of miracles happen in this town, but we did see many youngsters turn back to Jesus, which was amazing. We prayed for many, but the highlight of our Bethlehem visit was our visit to Charlotte Theron Children’s Home. Here we spoke to the kids aged 11 to 18, about bullying and drug and alcohol abuse. We also visited some of the houses and spend time with the little ones.
The visit to the children’s home were emotional at times, not only for us, but also for the kids. We also spend time with some of the staff, praying with and for them. We also met up with two other missionaries in town, who came from Harrismith, and ended up praying together for Bethlehem.
Today we prayed for the people in the towns of Clarens and Harrismith as we were driving to our next stopover, which is Ladysmith in KZN. We will be walking the streets of Ladysmith tomorrow and will visit the town’s old age home and children’s home on Sunday, before we leave for Ermelo on Monday. Thank you so much for your continued support and prayers.
Thank you to La Motte B&B, http://www.lamotte-bb.co.za/, and Castello Catharina, http://castellocatharina1.webs.com/, for sponsoring our accommodation in both Bethlehem and Clarens.
LADYSMITH (KZN): 9 – 12 MARCH 2018
Hi all, herewith our town update for Ladysmith in KZN. We found Ladysmith to be not the friendliest we have come across so far, and a town with big religious division. As quoted by many locals we spoke to, there is a big Muslim and Hinduism influence, which is causing conflict.
We prayed for many, but we focused a lot on handing out our Jesus to my Rescue flyers and doing prayer in the spiritual realm for the town. The front of the flyer gives detail about why you should accept Jesus into your life and comes with a lot of scripture. The back of the flyer is called “I accepted Jesus into my life, now what”, which is a great help to people who accepts Jesus, but don’t know what the next steps are. I believe the flyers played a big role in Ladysmith, since MANY we spoke to, knew nothing about Jesus.
We also visited strategic places in and around the town, such as mosques, churches and the statue of Ghandi, where we prayed in the spirit for the town and Its people. We also visited Morester Children’s Home where we spoke to 60 kids about bullying, drug and alcohol abuse and ended the visit by playing with the kids in some of the individual homes. The visit to the children’s home was very emotional!
On our way to our next town, Ermelo, we visited and prayed for the people of Dundee, Vryheid, Paulpietersburg and Piet Retief, which happened to be the worst road conditions we have ever come across in South Africa and which included being pulled over and bribed by a traffic officers.
We would like to thank A Haven in Ladysmith for sponsoring our accommodation in Ladysmith. Thank you for supporting our project and for spoiling us with the braai. May God bless you and your business! You can visit A Haven’s website here: http://havenaccommodation.simplesite.com/
ERMELO (MPUMALANGA): 12-15 MARCH 2018
Ermelo, a big but beautiful town in Mpumalanga, had friendly people, God fearing people, and one could feel the presence of the Lord there. It all started with a visit to the hospital due to me getting a huge allergic reaction to something, where my mouth and head started to swell up badly. I ended up talking to the doctor about Jesus for a long time and left feeling that I needed to be there for HIM.
We prayed for many people in Ermelo, handed out flyers and spend a long time in a Muslim shop where we spoke about Jesus. The Muslim guys did not accept Jesus into their lives, but a seed was planted, and we left them with Christian material and a blessing of Jesus love. A few people we prayed for received immediate improvement in their health, but the prayer we did for David is the one that stood out. David struggled to breath due to an asthma attack and after two prayers, David were breathing normally. Praise God!
While praying for David he got emotional and started to shake. We could really feel the presence of the Lord. Another powerful moment was the prayer we did for the man who were hit by a car. This man had so much faith and as we were praying for his foot for the second time, he removed my hand from his foot and placed it on his hand on his ribs. I then knew that he obviously fell and hurt his ribs when the car hit him. The man left full of smiles and said he felt so much better.
Our visit to Ermelo ended where we prayed for some of the staff at Hein se Plaas. We then left for Nelspruit, visiting and praying for the people of Breyten and Caronlina. We were going to stay in Nelspruit for 4 days, but due to challenges with accommodation, we decided to stay only one night. Early the next morning we left Nelspruit for Tzaneen and prayed for the people of Nelspruit, Sabie and Graskop.
We are now in Tzaneen where we will stay for 4 days, before leaving for Pretoria. We will be walking the streets of Tzaneen tomorrow, Saturday, so if you in this area, you are more than welcome to join us. Thank you Hein se Plaas for providing us with accommodation in Ermelo. You can visit their website here: http://www.heinsresort.caravanparks.co.za/
TZANEEN (LIMPOPO): 15 – 19 MARCH 2018
The Tzaneen leg of our project were both work and rest and we were blessed with being taken on a trip through the mountains. Tzaneen is indeed a beautiful place!
We walked the streets of Tzaneen, handed out flyers, spoke to people and lead them to Jesus, handed out Bibles and prayed for many. In the beginning of the walk, we found it hard to talk to people, since most people did not even want to greet us, but we did not give up and continued to smile and share the love of Jesus, until things started to change.
At one spot where we prayed for a lady with a lump in her neck, others came to us asking for prayer. One of the experiences I like the most is when people who don’t know Jesus gets excited to learn about Him, and we were blessed with a few of these opportunities in Tzaneen. Praise God! At the end we really enjoyed walking the streets of Tzaneen, leaving us with memorable moments.
We left Tzaneen this morning and prayed for the people of Zion City Moria and Polokwane and are now in Pretoria. We also handed out a few Bibles to people who have never had a Bible and they were so excited, they IMMIDIATELY started reading it. Praise God. Hallelujah. We will now take a day or two to plan our stay in Pretoria, which could be for 2 weeks.
Thank you to Mora and Marius Koekemoer in Tzaneen, a private small holding just outside of the CBD, who provided us with accommodation and who treated us like royalty. They are amazing people and true disciples of Jesus. Thank you so much for giving us a great time to rest and recharge, for cooking food for us daily, for taking us on a trip through the mountains and for the love and attention. We really enjoyed the stay. May God bless you!
PRETORIA (GAUTENG): 19 MARCH – 31 MARCH 2018
The Pretoria leg of our Walking with Jesus Project focused more on visiting and praying for the sick, visiting and reaching out to Children Homes and spending time with individuals. We also used this time to catch up on admin work, not only on our Walking with Jesus Project, but also our general admin work for the ministry and planning for our other two big projects of the year.
We visited Rock of Hope, a safe house for babies, Makhulong Children’s Home and Montamed Care Centre for the aged. Between all these places we prayed for many, spend quality time with people, talking about Jesus, handed out food, snack packs and Christian reading material. Visiting Pretoria and these places brought back great memories of the time we stayed here. Pretoria is really such an awesome place, filled with lovely and friendly people.
We are taking a few days off to rest well before we start working our way back to Cape Town. On Tuesday 3 April 2018 we are leaving for Lichtenburg, after which we will have stop overs in Vryburg, Lime Acres, Upington, Springbok, Clanwilliam, Velddrif and Saldanha. We should be back in Cape Town in the beginning of May where we plan to have a big ending. While we will only stopover in these towns, we will still be visiting and praying for people and many towns in between.
We want to thank Carmen and Kyle Pienaar, Karin and Doric Swart and Elizma Byleveldt for providing us with accommodation and meals while in Pretoria. We really enjoyed our stay, and we will miss you indeed. Please continue to pray with us. God bless you.
VRYBURG (NORTH WEST): 8 – 9 APRIL 2018
We took a few days off after we completed our Pretoria leg of the project and left Pilansberg early yesterday morning. On our way to Vryburg, we visited Boshoek, Rustenburg, Koster, Lichtenburg, Biesiesvlei, Sannieshof and Delareyville, where we prayed for the people of these towns.
Today we walked the streets of Vryburg, a very wet Vryburg, where we prayed for people and talked to them about Jesus. We also handed out flyers and gave Bibles to those who don’t have. We also focused on the street kids, talked to them, shared some love, gave them something warm to eat and prayed for them.
Today wasn’t easy as it has been raining hard and nonstop since 4 am this morning, leaving us wet and cold, which made it difficult to stop and talk to people. We then had to make a call to rather end our walk and return to where we are staying. We struggled to get back, since the roads were flooded.
Vryburg is a nice town, and the people were very friendly, but the streets were littered, the condition of the roads are bad, and one can see that the municipality is not really doing much to improve the situation.
We stayed in a place called Lockerbie Lodge Vryburg, which offers top rated accommodation and is indeed a place we can recommend, should you ever visit the area. Thank you, Lockerbie, for sponsoring our accommodation while visiting Vryburg. You can visit their website here: https://www.lockerbielodge.co.za/ or their Facebook Page here: https://web.facebook.com/lockerbielodgevryburg/
We will be leaving Vryburg tomorrow morning where we will stay over one night in Lime Acres in the Northern Cape. Thank you for your continued support and prayer. God bless you.
KURUMAN (NORTHERN CAPE): 10 – 11 APRIL 2018
The last two days we visited various towns in the Northern Cape and focused on healing prayers and telling people about Jesus. We visited Lykso, Kagung, Kuruman, Danielskuil, Lime Acres, Postmansburg and Olifantshoek, where we prayed for the people of these town.
Although we slept over in Lime Acres, most of our time were spend in Kuruman where we prayed for people, provided a nice hot meal to some and lead others to Jesus. Kuruman is a beautiful and clean town with friendly people.
We prayed for a lot of people, but the one that stood out was the lady with back problems, who struggled to walk, move and who were in a lot of pain. While praying for her, many people were watching, and our Lord then did a great miracle in front of all these people! The lady was instantly healed, started to smile and move around with no pain, bending forward and backwards. The people who were watching were amazed by this miracle and they all then wanted us to pray for them.
Many of these who saw the miracle then accepted Jesus into their lives for the first time. The one guy was a Nigerian, a Muslim, who was so excited about having Jesus in his life. We saw a few people bursting into tears, tears of joy. We also handed out many Bibles to those who don’t have. It was interesting to see how many people don’t own Bibles.
Kuruman was indeed so far one of the most amazing places we visited, not only because of how beautiful it is or how friendly the people are, but because of the great work Jesus did in this town and because of the amount of people who accepted Jesus as their Saviour. All glory to God! Hallelujah!
Thank you Fairly and Lizzy for providing us with accommodation in Lime Acres and for spoiling us last night and this morning. It was a very special time we had with you, and we will indeed be visiting you again in future. May God bless you and the kids.
We arrived in Upington today where we plan to walk the streets tomorrow morning and visit the local Children’s Home on Friday. Thank you once again for your continued support and prayers.
UPINGTON (NORTHERN CAPE): 11 – 14 APRIL 2018
The Upington leg of our project were one of the most incredible experiences we have had on this trip. We prayed for a lot of people here, walked the streets, visited Children Homes and reached out to the poor. It was also the town where the biggest number of people approached US for prayer. We prayed for farmers, Pastors, Ministers and ordinary people.
Visiting the Children Homes were very special, and we spend some quality time with the kids, talking to them about drug and alcohol abuse and bullying. They also received snack packs and we blessed the home with some food. We also visited a safe house for babies where we prayed and spend some time with the babies. We visited various people at home where we prayed for them and their families. We once again walked the streets where we focused on healing prayers, but also to talk to people about Jesus.
Upington were one of the most amazing towns we visited. The people here are friendly, they serve God, they follow Jesus, and they love the Gospel. The relationships between people in this town are amazing and there are a lot of love going around. The town itself is beautiful, clean and well looked after and is indeed, after Montagu, the best town we have visited in South Africa thus far. We will miss the town and its people.
We would like to thank Ed-Laurdon Guest House for providing us with accommodation while busy with our Upington leg of this project. Thank you, Edwin, Laurell and family for your friendliness and kindness. You are amazing people, and you did so much to make our stay special. We will definitely come visit when we in Upington again. God bless you! You can visit their website here: http://www.edlaurdon.co.za/ or there Facebook page here: https://web.facebook.com/Ed-Laurdon-Guesthouse-1368769656497282/
Today we are leaving for Springbok where we will stay 2 nights, after which we will stay for one night in Clanwiilliam and then 3 nights in Vredenburg, before returning to Cape Town. Thank you so much for your support and prayers! God bless you.
SPRINGBOK (NORTHERN CAPE): 14 – 15 APRIL 2018
The Springbok leg of our Walking with Jesus Project started early on the 14th with some challenges, as the Jesus to my Rescue website went offline and we first had to focus on getting it back online. We then left Upington and on our way to Springbok we visited Keimoes, Lutzburg, Kakamas, Augrabies, Pofadder and Aggeneys, where we prayed for the people of these towns.
This morning, we were up early and joined the local church with a special prayer gathering at 07:00, after which we walked the streets of Springbok. We prayed for the people of Springbok, talked to them about Jesus, handed out flyers and shared some Jesus love. We then went up to one of the hills overlooking the town, where we prayed in the spirit for all the people of Springbok, its local government and specifically against gangsterism and drugs.
This small town is currently challenged with gangsterism and drug abuse. A week ago, a young lady was found dead next to the road, which we heard today is something that happens way to often. Please pray with us for this town!
After praying over the town, we visited one of the local old age homes, Huis Harmonie, where we prayed for both the seniors and the staff. We also gave them a special word of encouragement from Psalm 62:2 and then asked if anyone would like to accept Jesus as their Saviour. One lady, a Catholic, then gave her life to Jesus for the first time ever. Praise God! Hallelujah! We left the old age home with so much happiness in our hearts.
When we got back to the Guesthouse, Tannie Betsie and Oom Daan treated us with a wonderful lunch, a snoek braai, and lekker pudding. Thank you so much Tannie Betsie and Oom Daan for this wonderful lunch and for providing us with accommodation while busy with our Springbok leg of this project. Tannie Betsie and Oom Daan’s Guesthouse is called Boesmanland and you can find them at this website address: http://www.boesmanlandguesthouse.co.za/ or this Facebook Page: https://web.facebook.com/boesmanlandguesthouse/.
Springbok is a beautiful, clean and well-maintained town with very friendly people, and we would really recommend a visit to this town, not only as a stopover on your way to Namibia, but also as a holiday destination. We will be leaving Springbok tomorrow morning and should arrive in Clanwilliam in the afternoon. Thank you for your continued support and prayer! God bless you!
CLANWILLIAM (WESTERN CAPE): 16 – 17 APRIL 2018
We left Springbok yesterday morning and on route to Clanwilliam, we prayed for the people of Kamieskroon, Garies, Nuwerus, Vanrhynsdorp, Vredendal and Klawer. Even though our Clanwilliam stop was mainly a sleepover to rest, we still walked the streets this morning.
We prayed for people, handed out flyers and talked to them about Jesus. One of the ladies we talked to invited us into a restaurant where we then prayed for a few people. In this very same restaurant, a lady explained how seriously bad the drug abuse situation in the town is and how girls as young as 10 years are already addicted and use drugs in front of their parents.
This lady has never accepted Jesus into her life, even though she was nearly 60 years of age. We then talked to her about Jesus, and she decided that she want to repent and let Jesus become her Saviour. After praying, the lady immediately received the Holy Spirit. This was a very special and deep moment. The lady was very emotional.
After walking the streets, we went for a drive up the mountain and stopped to pray over the town. We prayed against gangsterism and drugs and for the saving of souls. Our prayers were spiritually focused. While we were busy praying, a farmer stopped next to us, got out and started to share his testimonies with us. He said he saw us from a distance praying and he was so happy to see it that he just had to come join us. As we were leaving the farmer spoke a blessing over us and paid for filling up our tank at the garage. Praise God!
Clanwilliam was a short, but powerful visit and we loved talking to the community, who I must say are so friendly. We stayed over in the Clanwilliam Hotel, who sponsored our accommodation. Thank you, Charne Smit, for supporting our project and for your friendly service. We really enjoyed the stay. May God bless you and the business. You can visit their website here: https://clanwilliamhotel.co.za/ or their Facebook Page here: https://web.facebook.com/ClanwilliamhotelSA/.
We arrived in Velddrif this afternoon where we will stay for 3 nights. We will be walking the streets of Vredenburg and maybe Saldanha and will also visit a Children’s Home during our stay. If you in the Vredenburg area and would like to join us, please let us know. Thank you for your continued support and prayer! God bless you.
VREDENBURG (WESTERN CAPE): 17 – 19 APRIL 2018
The Vredenburg leg of the project was short, yet highly effective. We did not only walk the streets of Vredenburg, but also Saldanha, talking to the people about Jesus, handing out flyers and Bibles.
The weather conditions in Saldanha and Vredenburg were not that great, and while walking in Vredenburg, it started to rain, and we had to cut short our walk and return to where we stayed in Velddrif. We did however achieve a lot and the rain of cause were a great blessing, since the region is in draught and don’t have a lot of water left.
The towns of Vredenburg and Saldanha is indeed beautiful with very friendly people. We also prayed for the people of Velddrif, St Helena Bay, Hopefield and Malmesbury on our way back to Cape Town. We want to thank Oupa Frank and Ouma Diana for providing us with accommodation in Velddrif and for spoiling us over the last few days. We really enjoyed our stay!
We are now back in Cape Town and our Walking with Jesus Project came to an end today. While busy with our trip, the Lord did reveal to us to continue with this project, not going around the country again, but rather going back to some towns from time to time, for example, we planning to go back to Montagu for a week or two and work more closely with the community, talk at all the schools and churches. We also planning a Walking with Jesus in Cape Town in Happy Valley, where we will take hands with other churches and do a prayer walk against gangsterism and drugs.
We would like to thank all of you for your prayers and support during this trip. It really made a big difference, and we could not have done this without you. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts! May God bless you. We will soon be on radio again to give feedback on the project and the newspaper already ask for pictures for a full report to be published. We also want to thank the media for THEIR support and interest. We also planning to write a book, Walking with Jesus, where we will cover everything about our trip through the country in detail.
We believe that this project was a major success for Jesus, since many miracles happened, many people accepted Jesus into their lives and many lives were touched and changed. To God all the glory! Thank you, Jesus, for providing accommodation, meals and fuel, for keeping us safe and for protection over our Hyundai Atos. Praise God!
