Jesus to my Rescue Ministries started with their Walking with Jesus Project on 29 January 2018 in Cape Town and ended on 20 April 2018 in Vredenburg. Jaco van As, Managing Director, and Miryna van As, Marketing Manager, embarked on this huge project to spread the gospel of Jesus, pray for the sick and reach out to the poor. The mission was based on Matthew 10:1: Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the leapers, drive out daemons. Freely you received, freely you must give.
We have travelled throughout South Africa, visiting towns in the Western Cape, Eastern Cape, Free State, KZN, Mpumalanga, Limpopo, Gauteng, North West and the Northern Cape. We prayed for people in 77 towns: Brackenfell, Montagu, Barrydale, Ladysmith, Zoar, Calitzdorp, Oudtshoorn, Dysseldorp, De Rust, Klaarstroom, Beaufort West, Graaff-Reinet, Middelburg, Steynsburg, Burgersdorp, Aliwal North, Rouxville, Zastron, Wepener, Ladybrand, Clocolan, Ficksburg, Fouriesburg, Bethlehem, Clarens, Harrismith, Ladysmith, Dundee, Vryheid, Paulpietersburg, Piet Retief, Ermelo, Breyten, Carolina, Nelspruit, Sabie, Graskop, Tzaneen, Moria, Polokwane, Pretoria, Boshoek, Rustenburg, Koster, Lichtenburg, Biesiesvlei, Sannieshof, Delareyville, Vryburg, Kuruman, Lykso, Kagung, Danielskuil, Lime Acres, Postmansburg, Olifantshoek, Upington, Keimoes, Lutzburg, Kakamas, Augrabies, Pofadder, Aggeneys, Springbok, Kamieskroon, Garies, Nuwerus, Vanrhynsdorp, Vredendal, Klawer, Clanwilliam, Vredenburg, Saldanha, Velddrif, St Helena Bay, Hopefield and Malmesbury.
Within these towns we walked the streets, prayed for the sick, visited various Children Homes and Old Age Homes, talked at schools, handed out Christian reading material, lead people to accept Jesus into their lives and gave out Bibles to those who don’t have. At the schools we prayed for the kids and talked about bullying, drug and alcohol abuse. We did not stay over in all the towns, but we did make an effort to pray over them and for the people. Literature.
In many of these towns we saw real life miracles happen right in front of our eyes, many whom were so amazed that they started stopping people in the streets to share the great news and others running away of extreme excitement. Many people accepted Jesus into their lives after seeing the miracles in the streets, which is exactly what we hoped for to happen. We were in tears so many times, experiencing the presence of the Lord, seeing so many people happy, excited and emotional. The Lord has also done great things in us, through what we experienced, causing our own faith to be strengthened. We certainly grew not only in our faith, but also spiritually.
Travelling through South Africa also brought along all kinds of experiences as we saw in each town the different kinds of relationships between cultures, races and denominations. We prayed for policemen, politicians and councilors in various towns. We experienced South Africa in a way many will never, learning so much about our country and its people.
Thank you for every single prayer, donation, sponsorship and all the support! We could not have done this without your help. All glory to Jesus Christ who not only placed this mission on our hearts, but did exactly as He promised. Not one single day did we struggle, ended up with no money or had no place to sleep. He did so many miracles, touched so many hearts and changed so many lives, including ours. Thank you Jesus!
