Super-Hero!

We were swallowed by our shame…….

We were caved in by our fears….

We were full of regret and despair…

We deserved punishment for our wrong doings….

We were condemned to death by our sins…..

Until……one day, hundreds of years ago, far away in a small town in a shelter…………a Super Hero was born.

Long before the birth of this Hero, stories were told. They said that he will change everything, that he would be a light in the darkness of this world. Although many did not believe, even long after he was born some still said that he was only a child and that a child of this world he is not enough to save us all. But there was something different about this child. There was something special about him that was soon to be revealed.

As the stories of this new born Hero walked the land, some even feared that it might be true, some that were not in favour of righteousness. Short before long, the Hero healed the sick, gave sight to the blind, made crippled men walk. Then! The people believed!  As a young man the Hero was condemned to death for sins he did not commit, by the people. His followers were horrified. They could not believe that their Hero is going to die…

And so the people murdered him, brutally he suffered a long, agonizing death. They murdered our Hero, they killed the son of God, they killed Jesus…… And on the cross our Hero hanged as despair filled the world again. But then, after a few days his tomb was opened and his body nowhere to be found. The people could not understand.

Then Jesus came to the people and they cried out: “He lives! He lives!” Now the Hero did not only heal the sick, fix the broken and brought light into this world, he has forever defeated death! He had come to bare the punishment of our sins! We had nothing to be ashamed of anymore, all that we have done wrong against our Father in heaven has been forgiven, has been washed away by the precious blood of our Hero, Jesus Christ the son of GOD! We were saved, truly saved.

And so it was written: “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. “For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through Him. John 3:16
