Seek God

Have you made the decision to give your life to God? Have you turned a new page and accepted Jesus Christ as your saviour? Are you going to church, reading your bible and denying a sinful life but you still feel that you’re, “just not there yet”? Does it feel like you’re missing something, like you’re doing something wrong or that even though you accepted Christ as your saviour, you still feel that when He returns that you would be left behind.

You are most probably missing something, you will most probably fall back into a sinful life and you will most probably be left behind because, if you are in all these things and you still feel lost, confused and condemned, then you ARE missing the most important part, you are missing the whole point, then you have found religion and not God.

Without God religion is just a set of rules, without God religion is boring, hard, empty, stressful, unsatisfying and pointless but if you find God, if you find His grace, His mercy, His unfailing love! If you seek His presence you will find it when you let go of your pride and your fear of all that is in your life. When you put it all in His hands and trust that He will do a much better job at steering your life than you do, He will! Your life will never be in any better place than in the hands of the One who gave it to you!

God does not want an hour on Sunday, He wants your whole life! He does not want to help you out with things that you are struggling with, He wants you to give Him All your problems, challenges and heartaches! He does not want you to just ask for forgiveness, He wants you to accept it! When you ask His forgiveness and you accept the blood of Jesus Christ you ARE clean!

All that you have done has not been covered up or hidden or simply just set aside, it has been completely removed! You should let go of what haunts you, you should forgive yourself! If we are forgiven we are made new by our saviour, we are reborn in His name so do not hold on to what makes you feel unworthy. Let it go, your father paid for what you have done long before you have done it.

Search for Him, give Him everything. When you pray don’t just say what you think He wants to hear, what you think you should say. Pray with your heart. Praying is not a skill, it’s a conversation, tell your Father what it is that you feel in detail, tell Him everything. Yes he does know everything about you, even the amount of hair on your head, but it is when you open your heart to Him in prayer that you feel Him, His presence, His love and comfort. That is where you find God.

You are His child and whether you believe it or not, He loves you despite all the things you have done, He loves you more than you will ever know and His love never fails, never ends and is greater than you could ever understand.

Deuteronomy 4:29 “But from there you will seek the LORD your God, and you will find Him if you seek Him with all your heart and with all your soul.” Proverbs 8:17 “I love those who love me, and those who seek me diligently find me”, 1 Chronicles 16:11 “Seek the Lord and His strength, seek His presence continually!” Psalm 34:10 ‘the young lions suffer want and hunger, but those who seek the Lord lack no good thing”, Also read Matthew 7:7-8, Matthew 6:33!

If you have found religion but you have not found God, pray this prayer with me today. Jesus I thank you for your love and mercy. Father take my life today, every part of it. Father I put my trust and hope in you, show me the way, show yourself to me and show me what it is that is holding me back. Father free me from my chains. Jesus I accept your forgiveness. Lord give me guidance, open my eyes and ears so that I will see where you want me to go. Lord I pray this in your name Jesus, amen.
