Our God of Miracles!
15 July 2009
Our Heavenly Father, we worship You and You alone! Jesus, You are the son of God, our Redeemer, Saviour and my best friend! Holy Spirit, You are my life, my breath, my everything! I love You! Amen!
In this article I’m sharing a true life story from my own home. My son and his father were playing like fathers and sons do and while wrestling, my son hurt his neck. The next thing we noticed was that he was on the ground saying that he could not move his left arm. At first we all thought that he was joking, like he often does, but then when he struggled getting up, all white in the face, we knew it was serious. My husband rushed him to hospital and after X-Rays and tests it was confirmed that nothing was broken but still he had no feeling in his left arm. Then for the next seven weeks he was seeing Orthopaedic Surgeons, had blood tests done and went for physiotherapy. One Sunday we prayed for him at church and on the same afternoon, he had feeling in his arm. We all rejoiced at this miracle. However, later during the day, he then had no feeling in his right arm and this persisted for many weeks, influencing his school work. He was not allowed to play any sport for six weeks and with everybody having to help him bath, dress and do homework, he became negative with a very low morale.
The doctors simply could not give us an answer and as parents we knew that only God had the answer and that we had to seek His heart. After about seven weeks, my son phoned us from school one afternoon with severe symptoms of blurred vision and nausea. We rushed him to emergencies where they ran some more tests and admitted him to hospital. Within a matter of two hours there were three specialists attending to him. He went through lots of tests, scans and examinations. The morning after he was admitted to hospital, I received a phone call from a very special spiritual friend who indicated that the Lord through the Bible indicated to her that my son’s condition was not a health issue. God showed her it was a spiritual challenge and that somehow a spirit of slavery was present. At first I was not sure what this meant, whether it was something he was caught up in, maybe a game, a TV programme or someone he was friends with.
What was important here, I accepted the Word although I did not understand it. We prayed that the Lord would show us what it was, that the Holy Spirit would open our eyes. I went to hospital and my husband and I anointed my son with oil and with authority received from our Father through victory on the cross, we broke any spirit of slavery in the name of Jesus. At this point, even before prayer, my son had full vision and for the first time in seven weeks, feeling in both his arms. Later during the day, the Navy Chaplain and a colleague together with my husband prayed for my son and at the same time, I was praying with a colleague at work. We proclaimed Rom 8:2 that say “because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of life has set us free from the law of sin and death.” Set free! Amen! No slavery, whatever it was, he was set free. He still had a scan the afternoon, which of course showed nothing was wrong, but then again that we knew, for Jesus had already healed him.
That brings me to the question I would like to put to you dear reader. Do you believe in God, His Son Jesus and the Holy Spirit? If not, you need to invite Jesus into your heart, because He alone brings true healing whether from a physical, emotional or spiritual point of view. If you do believe, then my next question is whether you believe that God is greater than any health challenge? Matthew 8 verses 2 – 3 refer to the man with leprosy and He trusted God when he said: “Lord, if you are willing, you can make me clean. Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man, “I am willing.” You might be going through a tough time in dealing with your health. Remember that you don’t have to deal with it alone. Give it over to God, for no matter how big the challenge God is greater than any challenge. Yes, we prayed and trusted God and in His time according to His will, He brought healing for our son.
Dear reader. The best part is that the truth of healing is IN YOU, if you have the Lord in your life. He deposited victory over every area of your life the minute you accepted Him as your Saviour. Call upon that victory and proclaim it over your life and the lives of others. Yes, YOU can proclaim victory over EVERY CHALLENGE, as long as it is in the name of Jesus and to the glory of God our Father. Amen!
With lots of love in Jesus Name
