GOOD MORNING JESUS
18 August 2009
Father God, thank You for accepting me as Your daughter and taking me into Your Kingdom! Jesus, You saved me and are my best friend! Holy Spirit, You are my every breath!
This week I again realised that every morning brings a new day, I mean we all know that, but do we really fully understand it? The first question I want to ask you today is who do you greet first in the morning when you wake up? I was once asked this question and I answered “my husband and my God.” The person then asked me whether I ever say good morning to the Holy Spirit. Well this made me think and I realised that it was a valid question, because my relationship is with the Holy Spirit who lives within me. The next morning when I woke up, I greeted the Holy Spirit and wow, what an experience. I started feeling different, like something good was happening inside of me. I felt so special, yet energised but at the same time excited and alive. Ever since, that is how my day starts.
Secondly I asked myself what difference does yesterday make in terms of today. I can’t change what happened yesterday and I don’t know what today will bring. It is true that what happened yesterday or in my past has surely influenced my life, but the question remains whether I can change what happened and the answer is NO! What I can do is to forgive those that have sinned against me and to ask forgiveness from my heart to others whom I have sinned against as well as to my God and then also to forgive myself. Now it may sound easy and trust me I know it’s not. Many people suffer daily from hunger or many forms of abuse and they ask why these things are happening to them. How do they go on tomorrow if this is what they carry over from yesterday? We must know that many things happen to many people and I can’t tell you why. What I can tell you is that in many cases people don’t have Jesus in their life. Furthermore, many people are caught up in a circle of poverty or abuse and never broke free from it. You need to break free from the things in your life that keep you back. Now this does not always mean that you walk away from a husband or family member, but the way you approach these things start to change. You break any bondage in the name of Jesus. You enter into a church where Jesus and He alone reigns. Furthermore, you start speaking love into every area of your life. Now it might not just go away over night, however know that we are children of the Holy One who understands what we are going through and He has a plan greater than what you and I could ever understand. What we need to know and acknowledge is who we are. We can’t change the past but by acknowledging that you have the power to overcome anything and to do everything through Christ (Phil 4:13), you can start to look at your life and circumstances through the eyes of Christ. The point I am trying to make is that we need to forgive because forgiveness sets us free. We need to speak into and show love in every situation, because through LOVE, Jesus the son of God went through abuse and died on a cross without doing a single thing wrong.
So what am I trying to say to you dear reader. Yes we have many challenges and many hurt has taken place in our lives. Not all of us are in happy relationships or feel loved, BUT it can all change. Firstly invite Jesus as your personal Saviour and have a relationship with Him. Then start cleaning up your life. It starts with putting yesterday behind you, through true forgiveness. Remember forgiveness is a choice which brings healing. Then wake up every morning and acknowledge who you are, a prince or princess of the Holy One, set free. Speak over your life Romans 8:2 that says “because through Christ Jesus, the law of the Spirit of life has set us free from the law of sin and death.” Amen! Now, every morning greet the Holy Spirit, talk to Him, study the Word of God, allow the Holy Spirit to move within you, and trust Him for the day that lies ahead. Challenges will come, that is for sure, but the power within you is greater than he that is in this world (1 John 4:4). See every day through the eyes of Christ, an opportunity to move closer to God, and opportunity to bring others to Him, even if it means that you have to humble yourself. Love with the love of the Lord and that means that even if you are degraded, falsely accused or not appreciated, love with the love of Jesus. Although He did not deserve to die, His love was so great for this world, for me and you, that he gave His life.
Every morning, live for the one you love (Jesus), love as no one has loved and give asking nothing in return (the words of Celine Dion). If His love saved the world, imagine what your love in every situation of your life WILL change.
With lots of love in Jesus Name
Princess K
