There is probably only a few people on earth that does not have a bunch of things that they regret, that eats away at them, that makes them feel like they don’t deserve happiness, even if they don’t admit it, there is always that reminder of what you have done. We regret things we have done to others, things we should have done but never did but mostly we regret the things we did to ourselves. The things we did that goes directly against the grain of what we decided not to be, the things our Father God never wants us to do.
The worst part of regret is thinking of what you have done and finding it hard to believe that it was your own deed. You know yourself and you know that it is not the kind of person you are but still that is what you have done. The forgiveness of God is the most precious thing that we could ever imagine to have. By God’s love He gave His Son, His innocent Son to be tortured to death so that all of us could be set free from our sins. We, the guilty ones have no price to pay, none. If we choose God, if we choose the blood of Jesus to set us free we ARE free!
Psalm 103:12: as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us.
Acts 3:9 Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord.
2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!
How much more does God have to show us that His forgiveness is in full, that we have nothing to be ashamed of anymore, that we are without sin if we choose to be. Whatever you have done in the past is in the past and you have been set free from that. If God has given you freedom don’t hold on to your sins like they are precious to you, let them go, forgive yourself like your Father has and embrace the love and forgiveness of God instead! For that is worth holding on to.
