FASTEN YOUR SEAT BELT

JANUARY 2009

So here, we are the beginning of 2009. Many people, and surely even you reading this message, have made new years resolutions. Every year I ask Jesus to help me in getting even closer to Him, to guide me in the challenges coming my way and to empower me to rise above my situations, flying on eagle’s wings. Well South Africa, in 2008 there was the Mighty Men’s Conference with over 60 000 men praying to God. There were all the crusades with Angus Buchan where thousands of men, women and children of all races and gender worshipped the Lord Jesus and prayed for salvation and peace in South Africa.

Do you realise what this means. Thousands of men have asked God to come into their hearts,
homes and work. This means thousands and thousands of families have invited Jesus into their lives. Hence, we have a ripple effect in families, at work, in our communities, schools and even more so revivals in our churches. We started praying against crime and for Government to be shaken through prayer, as we want leaders of Christ in control of all authorities. Look around you, read the newspapers and see how God is moving in our Government and in the hearts of the people of South Africa. Wow I do not know about you, but this is exciting stuff!!!

Entering 2009, one can again expect a year full of challenges. Remember that Jesus is coming back for us and this means that according to the book of Revelations, we will experience different trials and challenges. We should never ask God to remove the challenges but rather to give us the strength and guide us through it. You probably say I make it sound so easy, and that it’s not me who lost my job, who are being sexually molested, who have financial burdens, who have been through a divorce, have lost love ones or are feeling so depressed that life seems no longer worth living for. Yes, your are right!

I might not have experienced some or even all of the above, but this I do know, that there is God the Father, Jesus the son of God, the Holy Spirit and the Word of God, the Bible, and nothing is more powerful than this! Dear reader. You cannot enter this year without Jesus. We are entering exciting times where thousands of people get to know Jesus daily and satan becoming angrier throws out all his toys to mess up our lives by wanting to break up the love in marriages and families. Remember Jesus by showing love overcame death, hence overcoming satan. Satan uses money, sex, alcohol, drugs etc to come into people’s houses. Watch out what you say, whom you hang out with, and the movies your watch, the parties that get out of hand, and the parents who do not give the right attention to their kids.

Satan knows that by working his way into our lives in a subtle manner, we give in to him without knowing it. I encourage you reader, if you have never invited Jesus into your heart, do it right now by saying this simple prayer:

Father God, I acknowledge that You are the one and only God. Jesus I acknowledge that You are the Son of God and that You came to earth died on the cross for my sins and overcame death through the resurrection. Jesus I acknowledge that You are now in Heaven and preparing a way for me. Will You come live in my heart? Holy Spirit I now welcome You into my heart. Please be what I say, think and do so that I will know and do the will of my God. Amen.

If you are a child of God, remember that you need to on a daily basis, proclaim that Jesus is King over every area of your life. Daily, you must break curses satan puts over your life and in place of that proclaim that by the blood of Jesus you are saved and protected. Call in victory over your marriage, families, children, communities, areas where you live, your work, health, finances, crime in our country etc. Continue to pray for all in our country, especially Government and the men in South Africa. Women we need to be obedient to our husbands. Children listen to your parents, and those of you who are going through the most horrible challenges one could think of, hold on to Jesus and proclaim victory in His name.

You are a child of God, hence a prince or princess! Amen! You have authority and power over
satan! Amen! Come on, fasten your seat belts, and use the power within you to take up and work through each challenge coming your way in 2009! I believe in you! Jesus believes in you!!
