Father I worship Your holy name. God I give You glory in the highest. Jesus, I adore You and love You with every part of who I am. You are my personal Saviour and best friend. Holy Spirit, You make my heart beat faster. I hear, see and feel You with my heart. Thank you for living inside of me. Amen!
In the past few weeks, I realised that I want more and more of Christ, even though I feel close to Him already. Therefore, I decided to fast and pray for 3 days, giving up all that one possibly could give up in order to keep my focus on Christ. I didn’t do it so that God would give me anything or to ask Him anything. No, I fasted to praise Him and to worship Jesus as my King. Oh, what an experience. On the first morning, the Holy Spirit gave me scripture from Jeremiah 29:12 – 14 that says “then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you, declares the Lord.” So, the journey began and the more I said His name, the more my heart raced. I realised that I am so in love with Jesus. My greatest desire is to be in His presence 24 hours a day. I want to hear, feel and see Him all the time and this dear reader, is what I have experienced in the 3 days of fasting and prayer.
I want to ask you today, do you feel God, hear God and see God daily? Does your heart beat every time you say His name or open His Word? Do you go to church because you have to or because you want to? Does the Holy Spirit drive you every morning to get up because it is a new day in Christ or do you force yourself to live each day? Now, I know all of us will have different answers and I also know that if we are true to ourselves many will be disappointed in their own answers because life has left some scars in our lives. However, the reality of life is living the now. We have now, this moment to live, to sing, to laugh or to contribute in changing the lives of others. What do you do with your now moment?
I realised in the past 2 weeks that I am just going about life daily doing what God expects from me. Go to work and spread His name, go to prayer groups, counsel where God wants me to be a vessel in the healing of others and then off course living for my own family. As I was going about my normal routine this week, it struck me from within, and God again said to me for the 2nd time, that He is not happy with mediocre. He loves me and appreciates everything I am and what I stand for, but mediocre is simply not enough. Sitting back, thinking about it, I at first did not clearly understand. I mean, I already give my everything and therefore what on earth is there more that I could give. I started praying to God and I realised that He is looking for my whole heart.
He wants me to be in His presence and He in mine, 24 hours a day. So whether I sleep or work, He wants my thoughts to be His thoughts. When I see, I see with His eyes and when I hear, I hear with His ears. The same with being His hands, feet and mind. Wow! I finally realised what God meant in His Word in Jeremiah 29:13 when He said that I must seek Him with all my heart in order to be found by Him. You see it is about Him in you and You in Him. When this happens, you can’t do wrong because as you think, He thinks in You and as you do, He does it for you. This is amazing stuff and it has taken me to greater levels in my faith and relationship with Him than ever before.
I want to encourage you today dear reader, to not live a normal everyday life. It is not enough anymore. The devil will work his schemes to attack you and drive you to the point of feeling that God has deserted you. This is not true. The truth is that God is the same, yesterday, today and tomorrow. He will always be God Almighty and Jesus will always be His risen son who overcame satan, death, illness and all the negative of this world. So what then are we doing wrong in that so many Christians feel they are not getting any ware in life and that God has given up on them? I tell you today, the answer is so simple.
Go back to the heart of worship, where every part of your being is connected to Jesus. Now this is not a Sunday routine. You have to do this 24 hours a day. God wants your everything, your whole heart. Are you prepared to give it to Him? Daily pray and read His Word, meditate on it and see what happens. Change the music you listen to and make sitting in the traffic time to worship, pray or listen to Word of God on CD. Don’t make plans that God has not approved and consult Him in every decision you have to make.
If you want God to get serious with you, then you must get serious with God. Mediocre is not enough!
With lots of love in Jesus Name
Princess K
PS: Dear reader, please remember that the scripture used are from the New International Version. If the scripture is read in another language and translation it might differ slightly. A verse in the NIV might be a different one in your bible, i.e. Ps 37:3 in the NIV might be Ps 37:4 in your bible. This does not always occur, but has happened in some instances.
