Father, I give you all the honour, glory and praise for who I am. Lord Jesus, You chose me and I will always be grateful for that. Thank you for showing interest in me. Thank you for loving me unconditionally. You know my heart and you know my thoughts. I trust You and will always love you. You are my Saviour and my best friend. Glory to Jesus! Holy Spirit, You always hold me and never let go, even when I disappoint You. You are my every breath. Amen!
As I sit and write this article, I realise that I am so blessed. I live in a lovely house; I have wonderful children and a loving husband. I look around me and see so much hurt. So many people are challenged financially and others face some sort of health or family crisis. People are standing at traffic lights begging for work and food. Now all these things we can see with the eye or because the person has shared it with you. So, we can pray, guide and support financially where possible. My question is what about those you don’t see with the eye? How many people pretend that they enjoy life? How many share their true feelings? I often wonder if I had to knock on the doors of 10 houses, what would I find? I think we would be shocked. So many people live a lie because all they really want is to be happy but most of their life they have experienced unhappiness.
My son has been challenged at school with children swearing at him, say degrading things and making sure that it hits hard where it matters the most. Think about it for a moment. Someone tells you that you are worthless and that you cannot succeed and they do it over and over again. How would it make you feel? What about when someone tells you that you are actually a mistake in life? Ouch, that hurts deeply. Why do people say this? You see it is because they are in personal pain and the only way to let it out as a cry of help is to break others down. Now we can ask ourselves why don’t they just come out and be honest and say they need help? There could be many reasons. It could be that they would feel ashamed if people come to know their true identity and what really goes on in their family. Then again, it could be because that is all they have ever known, being sworn at and mistreated at home. Perhaps parents think all is well at home, but there is not enough of quality time attention or even any attention at all.
Now all of the above is not just applicable to children. Remember kids go through these things and then they grow up and once adults, they simply repeat the cycle with their own families. In such a way, people sink in deeper in to the claws of satan, being completely blinded by his manipulation, lies and deceit. You see, no normal and healthy atmosphere will give birth to such terrible outbursts. Do you know people around you that are in personal pain? Are you in personal pain?
I want to share with you that to hurt other people with your own hurt, will solve absolutely nothing. On the contrary, you will sink in deeper into personal pain. So why not just think before one talk? Why do we not call on the name of Jesus and rather in that moment, give in to anger or fear? What are we really afraid of? The truth? Right now I want to tell you the truth. No matter whom you are, or what you have done, or what you will still do, God loves you unconditionally. All you have to do is call on His name and He will answer you (Isaiah 58:9). Who in this world wants to be unhappy? I tell you, no one! God’s purpose for man was not to be unhappy (Isaiah 29:11).
I encourage you to look into your own life and the lives of your children, family and colleagues. Look deeper and not with your eyes but with your heart. Stop looking at what they do wrong and look at why they do right. When we look deeper into a situation, beyond our own hurt, we will see personal pain simply crying out for help. How do we deal with it? Once you took time to discover it, allow the Holy Spirit to reveal to you what to say and do. Remember, a gentle and loving approach by Jesus concurred satan and death.
Lord, please help us to stop, look, listen, think and see with our hearts so that we can appreciate a little more. Guide us Holy Spirit into a process of healing for ourselves and for those that challenge us, in Jesus name. Amen!
With lots of love in Jesus Name
Princess K
PS: Dear reader, please remember that the scripture used are from the New International Version. If the scripture is read in another language and translation it might differ slightly. A verse in the NIV might be a different one in your bible, i.e. Ps 37:3 in the NIV might be Ps 37:4 in your bible. This does not always occur, but has happened in some instances.
