I am reminded of the song from the Frozen movie, when Elsa sings, let it go!  A part of the lyrics says: “Let it go, let it go.  I am one with the winds and sky.  Let it go, let it go, you’ll never see me cry.  Here I stand and here I stay.  Let the storm rage on.”  When you watch the movie and understand the lyrics, then you realise that here she talks about being herself and not hiding from who she is anymore.

So yes, we should not hide from who we are and not be upset when others do not appreciate us for who we are.  With that said, when we do the best we can and are the best we can be in line with God’s Word, I also say when challenges come:  Let it go!  However, for what I want to share with you today, I want to focus on when we should not let it go!

More than 10 years ago, I had a vision and for years I have been praying about it, calling it into our lives, as it was directly involving us as a family.  Every now and then something would happen to distract me from that vision and yet when I am in my quiet time with the Lord, I am reminded of that vision.

Often we see something, and it happens exactly as the vision came to us but at other times, it comes in a different form.  Either way, we must not let go of the visions that God has given us.  Do not take it lightly and do not let it go because of changed circumstances, detours and the amount of time that has lapsed.  God is true to His Word (Isaiah 55:11).

We read in the Word of God how the birth of Jesus (Isaiah 7:14) and his death (Isaiah 53:1 – 5) was foretold by the prophet Isaiah.  When we look at the time that lapsed from when the birth was foretold until it happened, it was around 700 years.  How is that for waiting for a vision to come to pass?  The reality here is to note that it did come to pass, and it meant that the vision was kept alive, through carrying it over from generation to generation and off course through faith, hope, patience and perseverance.

How often do we not find ourselves impatient for God’s Word to manifest in our lives?  We receive a vision/word and then we get impatient when it does not happen.  David waited, Joseph waited and even Jesus waited from birth to the fulfilment of God’s plan for their lives on earth.  What makes us different from them?

Why do we so easily give up when things do not fall into place?  Perhaps impatience, intolerance, doubt, fear and all the many other reasons we might think of or have experienced.  We must however know that God is the Master of time and all that must happen will happen according to His will and in His time (Ecclesiastes 3).  Yes, our decisions impact timelines and where we do not adhere to God’s voice and directions, we might find ourselves on a detour road, hence impacting a possible delay in time.

Back to the vision that God gave me over 10 years ago.  Today I was reminded again that we should never give up on God’s vision for our lives and where He had spoken to us clearly, we must listen, wait, hope and trust that at the appointed time, what He said, will come to pass.  If you, like me, are in a waiting period, DON’T GIVE UP!

Sometimes this waiting is painful but be encouraged by Romans 5:3 – 6 which says: “Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character hopeAnd hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.  You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly.

Remind yourself of God’s vision and promises in His Word and speak to Him about it.  You might feel that everyone else gets their share and here you are still waiting, holding on to a vision/dream that God gave you, looking to others as a fool to still believe.  No, my dear reader, you are not the fool.

Be the one who stands strong in your faith in that the God who stood by Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, is also the God who stands by you.  He is the one who in the palm of His hand, holds the universe and all in it, and therefore, He will not fail you (Romans 10:11).  Do not believe the lies of the devil who wants you to doubt and question God and do not settle for second best.  Wait it out and trust God!

Now listen carefully:  DON’T LET THAT VISION GO!

Love in Christ,

Princess K
