NO LIMITATIONS – Part 1

Father God, thank You that I can come and commit my all and everything into Your hands once again.  You are my life, my everything and I worship You with all my heart.  Jesus Christ thank You for saving me and Holy Spirit thank You that You live inside of me.  I give You my every thought and action.  Be my everything in everything!  Amen!

In my own experience, when a child is born and grows up, the child at a young age does not see limitations.  They run, they jump and when dad throws them up into the air, they just want to go higher.  No limitations.  They want to try everything and if you encourage them, they basically do everything, believing it is just fine.  Once they become aware of danger and restrictions, then only limitations step in.  If you tell them that the animal they play with is a dog, it is a dog and when something is for instance red, it is red.  Only when you correct them or tell them different, will they see and believe different.  Hence, as a child grow up in a loving home with parents serving Christ and bringing their children up according to God’s teaching, the child will have confidence to attempt everything but with advice and guidance from Godly parents, will know the difference between right and wrong and in what danger lies.

God is love and His love was shown to us by Him giving His son to save us (John 3:16).  This is the love the Father has for us.  No limitations to His love for us, as Jesus died for us even when we were sinners.  Thank You Jesus!

We are created in God’s image (Gen 1:27) and that means from all areas of our life we are in His image, physically, intellectually, emotionally and creatively.  Hence, not perfect as in being God, but perfect in the image of God.  This is amazing because this means that according to Phil 4:13, we can do all things through Christ who gives us strength.  Praise God!

Let us look at this again.  God Almighty created us in His image, Jesus died for us when we were sinners and gave us the Holy Spirit to help us and guide us in the way we should live in the world we are in.  God says we can do everything, not some things, everything, through Christ who gives us strength.  Hence, dear reader, there are no limitations to what we can do and achieve when we are in Christ Jesus.  None what so ever.  This is the truth, the only truth!  The question then, why do we experience so many limitations?  I am not referring to the things the Bible tells us to stay away from and avoid as Christians.  Those things are not limitations.  I am talking about limitations to what we think we can do and achieve in this world in order to glorify God.

We need to realise that in God with Jesus living in us through the Holy Spirit, there are no limitations.  How can a perfect God living in us have limitations?  No, that is not possible.  So there are no limitations in your heart and therefore it has to be limitations created in your mind.  Hence, if they are in your mind, you are the one who allowed it to be entertained in your mind and therefore it means that you can stop it.  Remember, satan can’t have your heart if your heart belongs to Jesus Christ.  The good news is that satan can’t have any part of you for you belong to Christ in totality.  He does however attack and he attacks our minds.  Now a thought comes up and you have the ability and freedom of choice to decide what you do with that thought.

Let me use an example.  You visit someone who lives in a lovely neighborhood, drives a lovely car and seems to have everything their heart desires.  You look at everything and like what you see.  Great!  You start thinking how blessed these people are to have what they have.  Great!  You start thinking about your own life and feel not good enough, comparing.  Not great!  You see when the thought pops into the mind it is just a thought.  When you entertain positive thought, it is good.  However, when you entertain negative thought or any thought of not being good enough, jealousy, comparison, then you allow satan’s lies to filter deeper into your mind and when that happens, his lie feels like reality.  When that happens, simply stop it in its tracks by saying NO!  Submit to God, resist the devil, and he will and must flee from you (Jam 4:7).

Dear reader, remember that in Christ your heart has been purified and that means that your thoughts should be in line with your heart.  Rom 12:2 says: “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.  Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is–his good, pleasing and perfect will.”  Ask the Holy Spirit to renew your every thought.  Remember also, you have authority over your body and hence, over your thoughts.  If limitations exist, you have set them by yourself.  Yes, sometimes others speak terrible things over us, but you have the authority to cancel it in Jesus name and to not receive it as the truth, because it is not the truth.

What God has showed me in my own life and through His Word, the Bible, is that there are no limitations.  If you believe that you can do something and achieve something, then you can!  The soldiers looked at Goliath and was scared for they believed he was too big to overcome.  David looked towards God and saw how great His God was and therefore it did not matter what Goliath looked like.  He went into that battle, in faith and with the truth, which was why he concurred Goliath.  Furthermore, if you don’t believe you can do or achieve something, you probably won’t and not because you can’t, because remember God already said you could; but because you believe you can’t.

Many people say the sky is the limit but I don’t agree.  For me, with Christ, there are no limitations.  If they do exist, they are in our minds, which means we are our own limitations.

NO LIMITATIONS – Part 2

Father, in Jesus name we honour You and glorify You alone.  Blessed be the name of the Lord!   Holy Spirit please reveal Your truth in this article in Jesus name.  Amen!

This article is Part 2 on the topic of No Limitations.  Part 1 addressed the issues around the fact that God created us in His image and He already gave us victory when Jesus died on the cross for us.  He confirmed in His Word in Philippians 4:13 that we can do everything through Christ who strengthens us.  Hence, when we are in Christ there are no limitations to what we can do or achieve.  If we believe this, we need to get rid of any limitations that might exist in our minds, for in Christ our hearts have already been set free from any limitations.

Dear reader, I believe in the power of testimony and therefore I want to share some personal testimonies with you.  These testimonies are living proof of how God has broken down limitations that existed in my personal life.

I already told you that I gave my life to Jesus at the age of 12.  I knew God had much planned for me and I knew that I wanted more and more of Jesus.  The more I spent time with Him, the more His light shined through me and others started seeing Jesus in me.  Praise God!  Now in the church where I was, I was not allowed to be baptized with water as I was already christened as a baby.  However, reading Matthew 28:19 Jesus was clear in His instruction that we need to go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.  I believed in God and in Jesus and I knew that the Holy Spirit was living inside of me but I also knew that something was missing, almost like it kept me back from things I had to do and achieve.

Many years later, I simply stepped out of the comfort zone I was in and joined a new church, one who moved in the Holy Spirit.  Within 2 weeks I was baptized with water and when I rose from under the water, I stepped into a new level of ministry that God intended for me.  I literally experienced how the Lord cancelled out limitations in my life.  I was still growing in Christ so there were many things revealed to me only later in my life, but what I immediately realised when I was baptized was that by not wanting to be embarrassed by a church throwing me out because of my belief that I needed to be baptized, I allowed limitations in my spiritual growth.  I had to make the decision to step out and take a step in faith, with the reward being priceless.  Praise Jesus!

My husband and I was prompted by the Holy Spirit of God to start giving more finances towards the work of the Lord.  We were not tithing at that stage but we gave more and more every month.  No matter how much more we gave, the Holy Spirit would prompt us to give even more.  One night, about 16 years ago, I was doing the budget and I remember that we had a certain amount left over for savings, however not much.  That was also the same night that the Word of God in Malachi 3:10 came to us which says:  “Test me in this, says the Lord Almighty, and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it.”  My husband and I realised that this was the only place that we have read in the Bible where God said that we could test Him.  We prayed and decided let us see what happens on the budget when we give a tenth of our income to the Lord.

Now in my mind it seemed impossible because we only had a small amount to save and if we first gave a tenth then we would be in a minus on the budget.  However, God said to test Him and we decided to do it.  I did the budget again but this time I first took off a tenth of our income for the Lord.  The result was that we were not in a minus but we had even more savings money left over.  This was humanly not possible, so doubting God, I decided to redo both budgets.  The result was the same.  Without the tenth, we only had a small amount left over for savings, but the budget first giving the Lord a tenth, resulted in more than double the savings money left.  Hence, the truth of Mark 10:27 that says:  “With man this is impossible, but not with God; all things are possible with God.”  We were both in tears and realised that God is so true to His Word.  Our doubt and lack of knowledge of God’s promises in His Word was why we were experiencing limitations in our lives. All He wanted from us was to take a step of faith and have confidence in His Word.  From that day onwards we have never broken our tithing.  Praise God!

Growing in the Spirit, I realised over and over how God showed me where I was still living with certain limitations, because I allowed it.  I was very much an introvert and kept to myself.  Never wanted to be in a crowd and neither to have any spotlight on me.  So, when people asked for volunteers for anything, I would choose to be in the background.  If catering required, I would just buy and deliver as I believed I am not a baker.  If décor was needed, I would just wait for others to volunteer first and preferred to just contribute finances.  Only when I acknowledged that I had a challenge with low self-esteem, did I become aware that I was actually my own limitation.  Someone prayed with me and I accepted complete deliverance and the truth of Philippians 4:13 which said that I could do everything through Christ who gives us strength.  Since then, no more stopping me.  I take on challenges, love doing décor and even speak in front of crowds.  All Jesus!

Both my husband and I would individually be walking in the shops and the Holy Spirt would show us to bless someone with finances.  Sometimes it was giving someone money and other times it would be to pay their clothes or groceries at the till.  The interesting part is that every time, the amount would be the same, which was for us a lot of money out of our normal weekly expenses, yet we were obedient in giving.  Not once did we not have enough for ourselves.  To the contrary, we received back more than what we gave.  The second part to this testimony is that God helped us to move away from giving with limitations.  Yes, that barrier was broken with the tithing but in blessing others through offerings and gifts, other than tithing, was still a challenge for us.  Only when we stopped looking at the amount and the number of times we had to give, the limitations disappeared and we started living in the abundance that God had already given us from His Kingdom when he showered us with every possible blessing that exists.  Everything that belongs to God, belongs to us.  No limitations.  We accepted the truth of God’s Word and believed it, received it and now live it!

Deuteronomy 28:1 – 14:  “If you fully obey the Lord your God and carefully follow all his commands I give you today, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations on earth.  All these blessings will come on you and accompany you if you obey the Lord your God:  You will be blessed in the city and blessed in the country.  The fruit of your womb will be blessed, and the crops of your land and the young of your livestock—the calves of your herds and the lambs of your flocks.  Your basket and your kneading trough will be blessed.  You will be blessed when you come in and blessed when you go out.  The Lord will grant that the enemies who rise up against you will be defeated before you. They will come at you from one direction but flee from you in seven.  The Lord will send a blessing on your barns and on everything you put your hand to. The Lord your God will bless you in the land he is giving you.  The Lord will establish you as his holy people, as he promised you on oath, if you keep the commands of the Lord your God and walk in obedience to him.  Then all the peoples on earth will see that you are called by the name of the Lord, and they will fear you.  The Lord will grant you abundant prosperity—in the fruit of your womb, the young of your livestock and the crops of your ground—in the land he swore to your ancestors to give you.  The Lord will open the heavens, the storehouse of his bounty, to send rain on your land in season and to bless all the work of your hands. You will lend to many nations but will borrow from none.  The Lord will make you the head, not the tail. If you pay attention to the commands of the Lord your God that I give you this day and carefully follow them, you will always be at the top, never at the bottom.  Do not turn aside from any of the commands I give you today, to the right or to the left, following other gods and serving them.”

Ephesians 1:3: “Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ.

Psalm 34:9 – 10: “Fear the Lord, you his holy people, for those who fear him lack nothing.  The lions may grow weak and hungry, but those who seek the Lord lack no good thing.”

Dear reader, remember this, we are our own limitations.  Once we stop allowing limitations of this world to dictate to us, then we will experience and live in the freedom God intended us to live in.  When that happens, you are finally living the freedom in Christ, no longer being dependent on this world.  You are free, so live that freedom, without any limitations.  Nothing can stop us in Christ.  Nothing!

NO LIMITATIONS – Part 3

Father, here I am to worship, here I am to bow down, and here I am to say that You’re my God.  I honour You Lord and I love You with all my heart!  Amen!

This article is Part 3 on the topic of No Limitations.

Part 2 included personal testimonies on how God wants us to make decisions to step out of our comfort zones and take a step in faith.  He wants us to live our deliverance in Christ, to have confidence in His Word and to be obedient in giving without limitations.  We need to remember that once we stop allowing limitations of this world to dictate to us, then we will experience and live in the freedom God intended us to live in.

If in agreement that there are no limitations with God and hence no limitations to what we can achieve, then it takes us to the next step of taking action.  It is great to hear the truth and good news that we are created in God’s image (Gen 1:27) and that we can do everything through Christ who lives in us (Phil 4:13).  The question is then, what are we doing with this truth?

About 2 weeks prior to this article, I received confirmation from the Lord on something I have been waiting for.  I have a prophetic painting in my study which was painted by the artist HannaH in South Africa many years ago.  She painted me climbing out of a boat and then standing on the water with God’s angels on my side in the water.  The side that I climbed out from was painted as the Old Jerusalem and at the back in the water, she painted the New Jerusalem.  I have been wanting to work for the Lord full time for many years and saw the painting as a prophetic step that I had to take by leaving my current job and entering full time into ministry.

However, I never received confirmation on this from the Lord.  Towards the end of August 2016, God started speaking to me about No Limitations.  The Holy Spirit inspired me to start writing the 3 articles on No Limitations.  It was important that we start off again realizing who God is and who we are in Him.  As sons and daughters of THE King, we have no limitations as Christ lives in us.  God never intended for us to be “small” or insignificant, neither to live a life full of worry and limitations.  He intended for us to be free and to live with His authority in a world full of challenges.

Many of us living in Christ know who we are.  The question however is, do we exercise our authority as God intended us to do?  As I walked into my study about a week ago, the Holy Spirit revealed to me the meaning of the prophetic painting and it was clear that it had everything to do with No Limitations.  I realised that me getting out of the boat was not about changing jobs but that it was about stepping out in faith in what God wants and expects from me.  I realised that although I love the Lord, believe in Him and His Word, I was living a life with limitations.

It was revealed to me that one foot was outside the boat, yet I never climbed out of the boat as God intended for me to do.  I was serving Him and ministering for His Kingdom, but from a comfort zone within the boat.  Yes, He was in the boat with me, but He was also outside the boat, waiting for me.  I realised that there is so much more that God wants me to do for Him and if I am prepared to step out of the boat, I will see and be part of miracles that I only read and dreamt of.

We need to know that God loves us and blesses us from the moment we accept Christ.  He is pleased with us when we work for Him.  However, I believe that if we want to see more miracles, healing and blessings in our lives and the lives of the ones we pray for, we need to start living a life without limitations.  I want to do what Jesus said in John 14:12: “Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.”  Hence, I have taken the step to climb out of the boat for I am no longer happy with a mediocre life in Christ.  I no longer want more of Jesus and less of me.  I want all of Jesus and nothing of me.  I realised that this meant not only was it enough that I gave my life to Jesus, I had to die to myself so that Christ is all in me; my every thought and every action.

I realised that once the decision was made, there should be no fear, no insecurity, and no worry about what people will say, do or think.  The only thing that matters is what God says.  Him in me, and I in Him 100%.  My first instruction was to change the way I pray.  If God says no limitations, then it means no limitations.  I know I am in Christ and Christ in me.  I know I can do everything through Christ in me.  I am no longer of this world and therefore people might look at me funny and say things about me.  There is only one truth; God’s truth.

Yes, I am not perfect and yes I make mistakes.  However, in Christ I am forgiven and free.  I am not accountable to this world and neither to the people of this world.  Hence, nothing should then stand in my way to minister to and pray for people.  I am not talking about judging people, I am talking about loving people and showing them Christ.  With the help of God and the Holy Spirit being with me every step of the way, I am now no longer restricted to the boat and therefore I minister and pray wherever I go.  Never again do I want to be restricted and live a life of limitations.

Dear reader, how about you?  Are you still inside the boat or have you stepped out?  Are your facing restrictions or are you free?  Are you concerned with what people might say or are you acting in faith?  If we agree that there are no more limitations, then nothing should stand in the way of God’s miracles manifesting in and through our lives.  He wants all of us to be His vessels and to share His love by taking action in such ways as to bring people to repentance, salvation, healing and to live a life without limitations.

Sometimes it is saying hello to the one next to you on the bus, a smile, taking food to those in need, listening to someone’s heart, visits in the hospital and praying for healing.  Whatever we need to do, let’s just be bold and take action.  Once we have taken the step in faith, climbing out of the boat, we won’t just walk on water, we will soar on eagles wings (Isa 40:31).

Love in Christ
