Cape Town is currently experiencing storm after storm and it feels as if every new storm is worst than the previous one as it causes more and more discomfort, bringing more rain, stronger winds and more flooding. In times like these there are one big thing that is bringing some comfort to our hearts which is that it has to end at some stage, the storm cannot last forever, the rain must stop, the wind must die down and the sun must come out again. We know this because we know that this is the way the Lord has made the earth and everything that come with it.

My friends, just like the storms we experiencing now, each of us experience storms on our journey to Heaven. These storms are called inner storms, storms which affects us as individuals with the challenges we go through on a daily basis. As you are reading this story now, you might realize once again that you are in a financial crisis, lost your job, lost someone close to you, being cheated on by a spouse, boyfriend or girlfriend or maybe you cannot find your soul mate, maybe you have a child going through some unexplained illness or things are just not going well with your
business.

The reality I am sharing with you today is that every single one of us go through inner storms throughout life and nothing we do can prevent that from happening, just like we do not have control over the storms created by God through nature. Inner storms are part of our creation, something that has to happen, something that we have to go through. These storms are the same storms that takes us to the next “level” in life, makes us stronger and provides us with growth for the future.

Storms on the outside are created by God for a reason, it provides water to the earth and without water we will all die as water is the most important source of life. We use water to drink and cook but just as important, it provides a source for the growth of seeds so that it can grow into food which is another one of our very important needs to survive. Inner storms works exactly the same! Throughout life seeds are planted within our souls and the storms we experience within life provides growth to those seeds in order for us to become stronger, bigger and better at what we do.

Growing pains is part of life and instead of “fighting” the storm within you, accept it and use it to your advantage! If you fight it, it will only cause more pain and discomfort but if you accept it, Jesus will walk this path with you providing you with calm, love and protection. He will carry you through the storm to ensure that you achieve what God has laid out for you to achieve.

My friends, no matter what kind of storm you in at the moment, it is all part of God’s plan to make you a better and stronger person, may it be at work or at home. He can see your future and whatever He puts you through now He does it because He knows what is best for you, He knows what lies ahead in the next few years! Our God is a fare God my friends and He will never let you go through a storm you cannot handle and which He cannot control. The important thing here is to accept it and then to realize that you cannot walk it on your own. You have to allow Jesus into your life so that you have the protection, calm and love you need to survive your inner storms.

Sometimes things happen in life which we don’t understand why but if we walk with Jesus, then He will provide us the answers, He will show us the way! Maybe you will not receive the answer for your storm today, but you will receive it and that is a promise! Once you receive the answer you will realize God’s purpose and you will also realize that it had to happen. Don’t force God to answer you! He will answer you when He feels the time is right, when He feels that you are ready to deal with the answer and when you can really benefit from knowing it.

In the beginning of this articles I said that every storm must at some or other stage die down and the sun will always come out again so that the seeds that were given water to grow can now grow further with the energy provided by the sun. My friends, your storm will end as well, it will also die down, the sun will shine on you again and will provide energy to the seeds within you so that you can grow and be strong. If you are not living with Jesus in your heart then these storms can cause damage but if you accepted Him as your Saviour and asked Him to walk with you, then you will approach these storms with ease and come out the other side stronger and better! Don’t try and change the cause of life, accept it and find the comfort and protection in the Lord!

NO STORM WILL LAST FOREVER, THE SUN WILL ALWAYS SHINE AGAIN!

Because he has given me his love, I will take him out of danger: I will put him in a place of honour, because he has kept my name in his heart. When his cry comes up to me, I will give him an answer: I will be with him in trouble; I will make him free from danger and give him honour. Psalms 91:14-15. This is the word of the Lord: Let not the wise man take pride in his wisdom, or the strong man in his strength, or the man of wealth in his wealth: But if any man has pride, let it be in this, that he has the wisdom to have knowledge of me, that I am the Lord, working mercy, giving true decisions, and doing righteousness in the earth: for in these things I have delight, says the Lord. Jer 9:23-24.

I am the Lord your God, who is teaching you for your profit, guiding you by the way in which you are to go. If only you had given ear to my orders, then your peace would have been like a river, and your righteousness as the waves of the sea. Isaiah 48:17-18. But if you put your heart right, stretching out your hands to him; If you put far away the evil of your hands, and let no wrongdoing have a place in your tent; Then truly your face will be lifted up, with no mark of sin, and you will be fixed in your place without fear: For your sorrow will go from your memory, like waters flowing away: And your life will be brighter than day; though it is dark, it will become like the morning. And you will be safe because there is hope; after looking round, you will take your rest in quiet; Sleeping with no fear of danger; and men will be desiring to have grace in your eyes; Job 11:13-19

This is the word of the Lord: I have given ear to you at a good time, and I have been your helper in a day of salvation: and I will keep you safe. Isaiah 49:8. And when he had got into a boat, his disciples went after him. And there came up a great storm in the sea, so that the boat was covered with the waves: but he was sleeping. And they came to him, and, awaking him, said, Help, Lord; destruction is near. And he said to them, Why are you full of fear, O you of little faith? Then he got up and gave orders to the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm. Matt 8:23-26
