Father, I love You with all my heart.  I worship You and You alone!  Jesus, You are my Redeemer and I will always honour You.  Thank You that You are my best friend.  Holy Spirit of God, words can’t explain what You mean to me.  You are my every breath and without You, I am nothing.

When I met my husband he knew Jesus and he always made sure that he took our family to church.  He always had strong moral values and knew the difference between right and wrong.  Now this did not mean that He had a personal relationship with Jesus.  I prayed for his salvation and that He will enjoy the presence of the Holy Spirit in his life, like I did.  Our outlook on many things was the same but there were also differences especially in how we approached people and situations.  For ten years I prayed that he would give his heart to Jesus and then, one morning in the Assemblies of God in Fish Hoek he responded to an alter call and entered into a relationship with Jesus Christ.

Thank you Jesus!  The second story that I would like to share with you is about our cars.  Both my husband and I drove old cars and we therefore had no monthly car instalments to pay.  My car started giving us challenges and ended up costing us thousands of rands every year.  After a while my husband’s car needed to have parts repaired and replaced and eventually all our extra finances went into paying for repairs.  We started praying to God, asking Him, and to be honest eventually begging Him, to give us at least 1 new car.

God started showing me that I had to trust Him and that He is my Provider.  Furthermore He showed me that in His time He would give me what I needed and that trusting in Him lied in my faith in His Word, which is always true.  So, I changed my approach and the way I was thinking, instead of asking and begging, I started praising God.  Every time we had challenges with the cars or when I looked at other people’s new cars, I praised God and said thank you for our new car.  This was never easy because there were still many challenges that came our way.  After 5 years of praying and waiting on God, my car broke down one morning in peak traffic on the N1 to work.

At that point in time I was cross with God and I said to Him that I have been waiting for so long, being obedient.  I went to work that day and never again climbed into my old car because again it would cost about R10 000 to repair.  I prayed and trusted God and within 1 week I was driving my new car.  Now this does not mean that I just went to buy a car and said God would sort it out.  No, I prayed and when we did the budget we realised that we could actually pay for the new car and that only because Jesus provided in many ways above human imagination.

Dear reader, why am I sharing this with you?  You might be in a situation that you are trusting God for something big.  Perhaps you are being challenged in your job and you are being victimised or are simply not happy in your current work environment.  Then again, it might be your finances and it feels like no matter how hard you pray or work at your budget, you are just not getting through with the finances that you’ve got.  This in turn might mean that as a result of the challenges on your finances, additional stress is placed on your marriage or relationship and then it feels like all is falling apart.

Maybe you are in a relationship or marriage where you are being abused or betrayed and no matter how hard you try or pray it seems like things will simply never change.  Perhaps you are experiencing all the above at once, leaving you in a state of depression with a feeling of no way out.  Well, this is not true.  Dear reader, no matter whether you think God is in control or not, He is!  Whether you think or feel that He is not there, He is!,  You must understand that God is the same, yesterday, today and tomorrow and if He said He was going to do something, He will!  I want to encourage you to turn back to God and put you trust in Him to look after you, to provide for you and to help you make decisions.

As you read this article you might say that it sounds easy but where do you begin.  Well, my advice to you is to start at the beginning.  If you don’t have a personal relationship with Jesus, invite Him into your heart by simply praying and asking Him to come and live in your heart and to take over the way you think and do things.  Then He defends you, He protects you, He provides for you and He fights for you!  Amen.

Then start handing over to Him, in faith, your challenges, one by one and trust Him to help you make the right decisions.  Remember, you don’t have to fight a battle that He has already won on the cross.  Once you handed over to Jesus all your challenges, believe that your circumstances will change.  It all lies in your faith.  Whatever you think, say or do will happen, because God gave you authority.  If you think you can’t, then you can’t.  If you think nothing will change, nothing will change.  God is in control but you have been given power to choose as well.

I want to encourage you today with scripture, which comes from Isaiah 30:15 that says “in repentance and rest is your salvation, in quietness and trust is yours strength.”   Also read and take in the words of Isaiah 30:18 “yet the Lord longs to be gracious to you; He rises to show you compassion.  For the Lord is a God of justice.  Blessed are all who wait for Him.”  Furthermore receive this word from God in Isaiah 41:10 and 14 that says “so do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am with my righteous right hand.  Do not be afraid for I myself will help you, declares the Lord, your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel.  See, I will make you into a threshing sledge, new and sharp, with many teeth.”

Dear reader I pray that whatever your circumstances, never give up on God or yourself.  He will come through for you, but in His time.  Have courage, have faith and wait on the Lord.  He will never disappoint you.  Remember, when things don’t always go the way we plan, trust God that He knows better and will never do or allow things if it would be bad for you.

Trust in Him, believe in Him and wait on Him.

With lots of love in Jesus Name

Princess K
