Father God, in Jesus name we start this article by declaring that You are our God! You are the Creator of Heaven and earth. Jesus Christ, You and You alone are the Way, the Truth and Life. You are our Redeemer and You are alive within us, through Your Holy Spirit. Holy Spirit, You are our every breath. Glory to God, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit! Amen!
Are you attentive to what people around you are saying, whether in the street, mall, supermarket or at work? I am not talking about interfering with people’s privacy, I am just talking about listening to people’s every day talk; the things you hear because you are in/around their presence. Yes, I agree that when people talk it is their personal conversation and their business. However, often people make negative comments or declarations which many times include other people, like you and me, without knowing the consequences thereof. The same applies the other way around. Often, we do the same, without realizing it. Let me use an example.
You drive in the car and the taxis simply ignore the rules of the road. Some days, you let it go and other days, you press the hooter, point a finger or say things like the driver is an idiot or he/she can’t drive. You drive away and two hours later you have forgotten what you said. In the meantime, you used the authority God gave you, to curse the driver by calling him/her and idiot and declaring over his/her life that they can’t drive. Another example is when parents or teachers declare negative things over kids, with even something small said like, “you’re a real dummy when it comes to math.” This can for sure have a negative impact on that child. Some say this is minor, but is it? Does God’s Word not say in Prov 18:21 that “the tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit?” God confirms this important Word again in:
Mat 12:37: “For by your words you will be acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned.”
Prov 21:23: “He who guards his mouth and his tongue, guards his soul from troubles.”
With so many wrong things being thought and said, knowingly and unknowingly, it is really critical to know what God says about us. Who does God say we are and what does God say we are capable of doing? Every day in our house, we break down and cancel out any curse that we spoke knowingly and unknowingly over ourselves and others, in the name of Jesus. Furthermore, we cancel out in Jesus name anything said by others, towards us and then we proclaim God’s Word and truth over our lives. This is crucial in the times we are living in because so many people are experiencing so many bad things and before they know it, they speak negative about themselves and others.
Taking the above into consideration, let me say this. God’s Word proclaiming who we are, as created in His image (Gen 1:27), applies to every human being. The difference comes in whether you choose it, believe it, speak it and live it. God is my confidence and every time satan speaks lies over me, I rebuke him in Jesus name (Isa 54:17, James 4:7) and then declare what God says over my life. This is an everyday matter, for satan attacks every single day. Furthermore, everyday be alert and ask the Holy Spirt to guard your heart, thoughts, feelings and mouth, so that you only say good things. Our principle is to either say something good or to say nothing at all. Is it hard? Off course it is, we are only human. Is it possible? For sure, for God says in Phil 4:13 that we can do everything through Christ who gives us strength. Hence, for us to do what God asks of us, we need Jesus Christ as our personal Saviour, so that His Spirit can live in us to help us.
Another important factor to remember is that when people comment on our personalities, for example the way we treat them or speak to them, let us listen to what they have to say. The things that break us down and are against what God’s Word says, cancel it out and break it off in Jesus name and then don’t dwell on it. However, where you need to change in your approach towards people, take it in prayer to God and work at it to improve your interpersonal relationships. This includes the relationships you have with your spouse, kids, family members, colleagues, neighbors etc.
All the above said, who does God say we are? I will make declarations from the Word of God and remember, we must not wait for something to happen or for satan to attack. We must speak God’s truth daily over our lives, the lives of our loved ones and the people we know.

Dear reader, remember who God says you are! To know your true identity is a matter of life and “death” in this world we live in. Daily, in Jesus name, cancel out all the negative things said to and over you, no matter if you know about it or not. Furthermore, in Jesus name, decree and declare the truth of who God says you are.
It was an honour and privilege to write for JTMR in 2016. I pray that you all have a blessed Christmas and a Christ filled 2017. End of 2016 and start 2017, knowing and living your true identity in Christ.
Love in Christ, Princess K
