GET OVER CAN’T

Father in Jesus name I glorify you!  Thank You Lord that You love me unconditionally!  Thank You Holy Spirit that because of You in my life, I will never ever be alone!  Hallelujah!  Amen!

Whilst driving to work, I saw a billboard and the slogan of the company advertising, “get over can’t” immediately spoke to heart.  The advert is about stop saying that you can’t save money because you can. Dear reader this slogan touched me deeply and I once again realised that the way we speak has direct impact on what happens in our lives daily.  As driving I experienced the presence of God’s Word in my heart and I prayed that those words would touch the hearts of those driving past.

The Bible is full of verses talking about the power of the words we speak and we often forget that “death and life are in the power of the tongue.”  We need to realise that when we speak, we speak things into existence (OpenBible.info) and therefore we should think before we speak.  I am going to list some of the verses talking to this topic:

Proverbs 18:21

The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit

2 Corinthians 4:13

I believed; therefore I have spoken.” Since we have that same spirit of faith, we also believe and therefore speak

Matthew 12:34-36

“You brood of vipers, how can you who are evil say anything good? For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of.  A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in him, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in him.  But I tell you that everyone will have to give account on the day of judgment for every empty word they have spoken

Ezekiel 37:1-10

“The hand of the Lord was on me, and he brought me out by the Spirit of the Lord and set me in the middle of a valley; it was full of bones.  He led me back and forth among them, and I saw a great many bones on the floor of the valley, bones that were very dry.  He asked me, “Son of man, can these bones live?”  I said, “Sovereign Lord, you alone know.”  Then he said to me, “Prophesy to these bones and say to them, ‘Dry bones, hear the word of the Lord!  This is what the Sovereign Lord says to these bones: I will make breath enter you, and you will come to life.  I will attach tendons to you and make flesh come upon you and cover you with skin; I will put breath in you, and you will come to life. Then you will know that I am the Lord.’”  So I prophesied as I was commanded. And as I was prophesying, there was a noise, a rattling sound, and the bones came together, bone to bone.  I looked, and tendons and flesh appeared on them and skin covered them, but there was no breath in them.  Then he said to me, “Prophesy to the breath; prophesy, son of man, and say to it, ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: Come, breath, from the four winds and breathe into these slain, that they may live.’”  So I prophesied as he commanded me, and breath entered them; they came to life and stood up on their feet—a vast army

Mark 11:23

“Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them

Reading these scriptures, I realise once again that when God created us and breathed air into our lungs, we were fearfully and wonderfully made, in His image.  He gave us authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy (Luke 10:19) and therefore we must realise that when we speak there is power in our words.  The challenge we face is that people don’t even realise how they speak.  Walking in a shoe store one day, I heard a conversation between a family and the swearing whilst talking casually to another was terrible.  I realised that swearing has become part of a common language spoken in all households.  It was shocking to me as I realised that people don’t even know that across the world they are likewise giving in to a common language which the bible warns us against.  When one approach such people by just asking them to please not talk like that, they end up wanting to fight with you.  It made me realise how deep people are in a mess of satan controlling there every word.  Don’t get me wrong, I am not judging people here.  I am merely using the Word of God and stating the obvious.

Then there is the trap we all tend to fall into at some point in time.  We so easily say “I can’t.”  Why is that?  Doubt is not from God. God is true, His Word is true and He is very clear that He has given us authority to speak life or death.  Let me use an example.  If you say “I can’t speak in front of people” you will not be doing it for that is what you believe.  If you say I prefer not to speak in front of people but if I have to, I am sure I will know what to say, is a better option.  Now, there is a difference between what you like and what you say you can’t do and we must understand the difference.  Don’t allow your dislikes to become your fears for fear is not from God.  I remember that I always use to say that I was not creative and that I could not decorate because of an experience in my life where someone made me feel that I could not decorate.  That got stuck in my mind and became nothing else than fear.  Then after Jesus restored me, I offered to decorate a table at church and my goodness once I handed over to the Holy Spirit and was obedient to His voice, the table was gorgeous and a photo of the table was placed in the church booklet.  All the glory to God!  Now, I am unstoppable!  Amen!

Dear reader, today you are reading this article because you have an interest to feed your soul.  Praise God for that.  Our challenge is the rest of the world who do not realise that they are trapped in their own thoughts and words of negativity.  They have become their own blessing blockers because of the way they think and speak and we, who know the truth must stand up in Christ to help them.  Let us start with those around us like family, friends and colleagues and gently introduce the truth to them.  Ask the Holy Spirit to guide you.  In some instances you will have to speak and in others you will have to pray silently.  Then off course, show them through your own life, leading them to the truth by example.  Now what we do know is that when people are not in a relationship with Christ, they might not even want to listen to you.  Don’t give up, simply pray for them.  Pray that God changes their hearts for when the heart is changed, then the way they think and speak will change.

“Lord we pray today for all of us to know and speak only words of wisdom and truth.  To do that Lord, we need Your guidance and wisdom to stop negative thinking and speech.  Jesus please help us and help us to help others to “get over can’t” and to realise that what we speak will be the truth in our lives.”  Amen!

Lots of love

Princess K

PS:  Dear reader, please remember that the scripture used are from the New International Version.  If the scripture is read in another language and translation it might differ slightly.  A verse in the NIV might be a different one in your Bible, i.e. Ps 37:3 in the NIV might be Ps 37:4 in your bible.  This does not always occur, but happens in some instances.
