ARRESTED BY HIS TRUTH
Thank You Father that You love me unconditionally. Thank You Jesus for saving my soul. Thank You Holy Spirit for living inside of me. I praise You God. I worship You Lord. Amen!
I recall driving in my car and not feeling happy about things that happened on that specific day. I realised that I could have dealt with the day and the choices that I have made, differently. Not feeling proud of myself for the way I acted, I had two choices. I could both crawl into a hole and continue to feel sorry for myself or, I could ask forgiveness, learn from the experience and move on. The latter sounds so easy, but is it?
Many of us when we make mistakes, find ourselves being tormented by satan who accuses us from being a false Christian who has no values and who disappoints the world when we should in fact be motivating them. Has this happened to you? It has surely happened to me a lot and every time we make even the slightest mistake, satan is on our case and makes us out to be bad people. Here, I want shout out to satan the words of the song kids often sing: “liar, liar, your pants is on fire.” Come on people, do you honestly think that you are a lost case if you have made a mistake. NO! Mistakes is what grows us, empowers us and teaches us the way in which to go. So, never a failure, just a lesson in life.
The question then remains; why do so many people actually never get up after making a mistake? It could be that they believe the lies that satan has been telling them over the years, in that they are no good and only a waste of breath in life. Many people find themselves exactly slam bang in the middle of that lie, especially if they have had a difficult life in having to grow up and fighting for their dreams. What we have to remember however, is that satan has no future because of him messing up and challenging God Himself. Jesus however came to earth to die for us as humans, who are all created in His image, and that means that we have the opportunity to choose life over death. This truth makes satan very jealous and angry as he will never ever have another chance to life. Hence, off course he will tell you lies, aim to break you down and make you feel worthless. Surely, he does not want to be alone in hell and surely he does not want you to be happy. However, what we as children of God standing in a relationship with Jesus must remember is that by making a mistake does not remove us from God. If we do not repent and move on, then we distance ourselves from God. However, God never distance Himself from His children. He waits with open arms for us to run into his embrace, saying that we are sorry and aiming at never doing it again. He wants to forgive us (1 John 1:9) and will not condemn us (Rom 8:1). Praise God dear reader, for that is the truth! Amen! His love, grace, mercy and unconditional love is never ending. Amen!
Looking at what the Bible tells us, we read of many people who were told by satan that they are not good enough, yet by standing on the truth spoken by God, they accomplished many great things. Some of them are:
- Moses who said he is not good in speech, yet he led the Israelites out of Egypt and performed miracles. (Book of Exodus)
- Gideon shied away from God’s call as he doubted that God could use him. He said that he was from the weakest clan and he was the least in his family. Yet, even after asking confirmation from God more than once, Israel was saved by Gideon’s hand. (Book of Judges)
- Abraham and Sarah laughed at the promise by God that at their age, Sarah will give birth to a son. However, Isaac was born and God’s word was fulfilled that Abraham will be the father of many nations. (Book of Genesis)
Dear reader, what more must God do to show us that His truth is the truth. If He says you can, then you can! If He says that He will forgive you and purity you from unrighteousness when you confess your sins, He will do that! When He says you will never be alone, He means it. He will always be in you and next to you even if He is silent. Why do we then still doubt the truth? I realised that God is true to Himself and to His Word and therefore I find myself constantly arrested by His truth! Amen!
Lots of love
Princess K
PS: Dear reader, please remember that the scripture used are from the New International Version. If the scripture is read in another language and translation it might differ slightly. A verse in the NIV might be a different one in your Bible, i.e. Ps 37:3 in the NIV might be Ps 37:4 in your bible. This does not always occur, but happens in some instances.
