Rise above the situation?
Father, I glorify You! Jesus Christ, I worship You alone! Holy Spirit I honour You in my life! Amen!
Often people are accused for things, which they felt they are not guilty of doing. We find ourselves in situations where people say and do things that hurt us, but don’t we do the same? Often we hurt others by the things we do or don’t do and sometimes it is not even about what is being done, but how it is done. When we think about these things, we realise that if two people or a group of people are in emotional pain, sometimes there is more than one person involved in the hurting process. So often we tend to think that only others are wrong and therefore, we abdicate responsibility to take blame. But when we think about it hard and deep, we realise that we are all human and we all fail at some point in time. Although we know we should not, we still get angry, say hurtful things, judge and sometimes become negative.
When one’s integrity has been questioned and things of the heart have been touched deeply, it hurts like crazy. It touches ones heart tremendously and requires all of us to work through these things. What we must realise is that we must never lose our focus of who we are and what really happened. You see, satan is out there to destroy us Christians, but he cannot succeed as we are covered with the blood of Christ. What he can succeed in is making our lives miserable if we allow it. One of the things he uses, is unforgiveness.
Yes, to be hurt is not nice for anyone, but to keep on feeling sorry for ourselves will only make us negative and drag us down. When you know you are not wrong, always remember that we are who God says we are, and not what the world is shouting at us. He knows our hearts inside out. He is in control of our dreams and destinies, from the day we have given our hearts to Him. So, when we find ourselves in a time of emotional pain, let us not stay in the pit we fell into, but let us rise above the situation, knowing that our Father God is in control. He is our King and He wants to listen, care for and help us. Thank you Lord! Amen!
What is sometimes not easy is that when others were wrong it is easier to accept and then pray for those people. The challenge is when you are at the wrong. It then requires of you to withdraw for a moment and go before God. Ask Him to show you if you were wrong and to show you how to fix it. For no one it is easy to admit that they were wrong, but it all starts with acknowledgement. Once acknowledged, you can move forward by forgiving yourself and asking the people you have hurt to forgive you.
Forgiveness brings healing and when it is from the heart and not accepted by the other party, your part is clean and that person needs to work it through with Jesus. Now that does not give us free range to go around hurting people over and over knowing that one can just ask forgiveness. When we ask forgiveness it must be from the heart with the decision to not do that hurtful thing again and then proving yourself in that. The next step is then to move along and not dwell on the same mistakes over and over. Stop feeling sorry for yourself and rather use your energy to work on a brighter tomorrow.
Looking into the Word of God the greatest example of being hurt by the world is in the life of Jesus Christ. We read about his arrest, judgement, torture and crucifixion throughout the books of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. Jesus Christ was accused of all the wrong in life and he died because of all those accusations, being not guilty for even one of them. It makes my heart bleed to know what he went through and all of it for me, for you, for this world. Thank you Jesus, thank you from our hearts! Amen!
Dear reader, it was not easy for Jesus and therefore he understands that it is not easy for you and me. He understands when we hurt because of false accusations and He understands when we have messed up. What He asks of us is to call on Him to rescue, forgive, heal and guide us to victory. Yes, we fail and yes, we mess up but let us not lie down and allow satan to get satisfaction by stepping on us. No! Let us live out Isaiah 40:31 that says “but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” Amen!
Dear reader as we face today, tomorrow and the rest of our lives, let us continue with the help of Christ, to rise about the situations in our lives. Amen! Glory to Jesus! Amen!
Lots of love

PS: Dear reader, please remember that the scripture used are from the New International Version. If the scripture is read in another language and translation it might differ slightly. A verse in the NIV might be a different one in your Bible, i.e. Ps 37:3 in the NIV might be Ps 37:4 in your bible. This does not always occur, but happens in some instances.
