Father God I glorify You!  I honour You! I worship You!  Jesus Christ, I declare that You are Lord of my life and that because of You I will live forever!  Holy Spirit, continue to flood my heart with Your presence!  Amen!

In the past few weeks I earnestly prayed for something to happen by a certain time.  I believed with my heart that it will happen, but came the day, there was the realization that it was not going to happen.  At first I was disappointed and then many questions popped up.  Did I pray wrong?  Was it in God’s will, even though it felt right in my heart?  Is this satan tormenting me to see if I will lose trust in God?  Is my faith being tested?

Has this happened to you dear reader?  Perhaps you are currently finding yourself in such a situation and you are wondering what is going on.

As I worked through the emotions I was experiencing, I realised that the fact that it did not happen at the time that I thought it would, does not mean it won’t happen at all.  Even in times when we are convinced our timing is right, we sometimes forget that God has a greater plan and that if a day or two is added or removed from His plan, He should still be trusted.  As I have written many times before, God does more than one thing at a time to ensure that a multitude of plans work together, effecting many lives simultaneously.  Praise God, the Master of strategy and planning.  He who created this world has never ever failed us.  We might not see the results now or even in our life time, but I assure you He is in control and will never fail us (Prov 3:5).  Amen!

But, what if it was not just something you prayed for or prayed about for someone else?  What if it was your health being attacked, or your finances and relationships?  What if your integrity is questioned or you are being accused for something that you have not done?  Then suddenly the picture changes as the attack is directly on you.  The only one who knows the truth is you and Father God.  Have you find yourself there?  Are you there now?

Where am I going with all of this?  Dear reader, we are all born in the image of God and therefore to be confident is part of how we were created.  However, do we live out confidence in all we do?  Perhaps it is standing up in front of people to speak or perhaps it is praying in front of others.  Then again it could be to go for that promotion post or to study further.  All of this, tests our confidence.  But then there are times when we are confident and trust with all our hearts and then things don’t work out.  Does this mean we had a lack of confidence?

I don’t think so necessarily.  There might be instances where our confidence levels were low yes, but sometimes it is just not meant to happen at that particular time in our lives.  Then it was more about trusting God’s plan and timing.  For me confidence is directly coupled to faith.  So, if you lack faith it will affect your confidence and vice versa.  According to the online dictionary, confidence is “the feeling or belief that one can have faith in or rely on someone or something.”  The definition of faith is “complete trust or confidence in someone or something.”

In Psalm 27:1 – 14 David writes, “…..though an army besiege me, my heart will not fear, though war break out against me, even then will I be confident………though my father and mother forsake me, the Lord will receive me……..I am still confident of this:  I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.  Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.”  Amen!

Dear reader the army referred to in David’s Psalm could be physical yes, but today I ask you what “army” facing you today?  What is the challenge in your life right now?  You see these “army’s” will come daily and our faith will be tested.  The question is will we stand firm in true confidence?  When we often fail, it is because of a lack of faith, not in what will happen, but in trusting God unconditionally for His timing and for the way in which He want things to happen.  Amen!

This is my last article for 2013.  I pray the love and peace of our Lord Jesus Christ over you and your families not just for the festive season, but for every day of your lives.  Love as no one has loved, trust God unconditionally and even if you have not seen the results of your faith and prayers for something specific in 2013, don’t write it off.  If God says not now, it does not mean it is no!  Trust Him with true confidence, knowing that he knows the best for you.  Amen!

Lots of love

Princess K

PS:  Dear reader, please remember that the scripture used are from the New International Version.  If the scripture is read in another language and translation it might differ slightly.  A verse in the NIV might be a different one in your Bible, i.e. Ps 37:3 in the NIV might be Ps 37:4 in your bible.  This does not always occur, but happens in some instances.
