Father God, I honour You!  Amen!  Lord Jesus I declare You Saviour of my life.  My heart belongs to You!  Amen!  Holy Spirit I love You and Your presence in my life is what keeps me on the right path.  Amen!

As I was standing over the weekend with the Jesus to My Rescue group at a very busy intersection, near our home, handing out pamphlets about Jesus, I realised that there are so many broken hearts, broken families and broken marriages.  As people drove by, the Holy Spirit allowed me to look into people’s hearts through their eyes.  Oh what a revelation.  Even in the 3 seconds I had at that crossing looking into their hearts, I could see joy, laughter, Jesus, pain, depression, oppression; and I realised the world needs Jesus Christ.  Amen!

Being part of Jesus to My Rescue has over the past years brought me to the point of doing a bit of introspection.  In the past week I took some time to fast and pray around humbleness.  What was interesting is that going to the prayer group at work, we received a message on exactly the same topic and I knew that Christ was talking to my heart.  I realised that even us, working for the Lord on a continuous basis, need to be humble at all times.  Christ in us is what sets people free.  Yes we are chosen and put in a place at a certain time for the work of God to spread the gospel, to win souls for Jesus and to heal the sick and broken hearted.  But, it is not about us.  God is God and He is the one who made all creation.  He does not need us, however He wants us to be part of His glory and therefore once saved, He equips us as His children to win souls for Him.  So it is never about us, it is always about Jesus.  However, God never works in isolation.  What I am trying to say is that when He works in me, it will always impact others around me and therefore His master plan is all integrated with another working to a greater purpose.  Hallelujah!  Amen!

I realised in this past week that I have to bend the knee in order to overcome challenges.  Whether I am the one that was wrong or not.  If I humble myself before the Lord, He will lift me up (James 4:10).  When you bow a knee, always remember it is for God, not for the other person.  So if you do it for Jesus that means you allow Him to move into the challenge and take over, with the result it is taken care of and you feel free.  You see dear reader that is why so many people burn out.  They try to solve everything themselves instead of handing over to Jesus and yes that includes when people want to walk over you.  We so easily ask the Lord and give over to the Lord but then we set boundaries for Him.  We want to tell Him how to solve issues for us.  We question Him and in all that we actually “tell” Him that He is not good enough.  We must be so careful and we should remember God cannot be mocked (Gal 6:7).

Dear reader, all of this made me think this week.  Where are we really in Christ?  Do we show love or just say we love?  Do we trust unconditionally?  Do we exercise faith without setting boundaries?  Do we do things for the Lord to be seen or to make a difference?  We should not just answer these questions quickly for many of us might just deceive ourselves.  When we think deeply, we must be honest with ourselves.  Do Christians go to church because it is the right thing to do on a Sunday?  Are Christians involved in outreaches and donating money, food and clothes because it is what the Bible says we should do?  Are we praying in the morning and evening and reading our Bibles because we have to?  We must just remember people of this world who might not have a relationship with Jesus and has big bank accounts, also give to the world and also visit the poor and also donate.  It is like giving R5 to the car guard.  Most people give money to the car guard, but how many deposit into their hearts?  Just think for a moment; just take some time to work through these things before answering the questions for yourself.

I realised that if you have never given your life to Jesus then it means you are walking in this world doing things for the world through a good heart.  However, once the Holy Spirit lives inside of You and Jesus is Lord of your life, we have moved from religion to relationship and it all changes, or does it not?  Am I confusing you with my words?  I apologise.  What I am trying to say is that if Jesus is Lord of your life, yes then the reason for existing and why we do things for others, change.  However, always be alert as the master of deception and pride, the devil, is walking around like a roaring lion waiting to take a bite at you.  Be alert, and constantly make decisions based on the guidance of the Holy Spirit.  When you do things for Christ, for people, for this world, take no honour.  Your reward will come from God.  Stay humble and make sure that when you are involved in outreaches, giving to the poor or ministering into people’s lives, that it is with humbleness and for the right reasons which should be to glorify God.  In that way it is showing God’s love and grace to people.  Leaders lead by example, correct?  So what will attract people to the Lord?  When you show people Jesus by the way you live and do things, with a humble heart and approach, taking no glory, it will attract people to serve the Lord wholeheartedly.  Amen!

Now I agree that to show people Jesus, means also to talk about Him and therefore always give over to the Holy Spirit to talk about the Lord.  He will give you the right words (Exodus 4:10 – 15 and Jeremiah 1:9) and will lead discussions into the right direction.  So yes, talking about Christ is critical, the question is just who does the talking, you or the Holy Spirit?

So the last question that I am leaving with you today is do you talk Jesus or do you walk Jesus?  If you walk, He will give you all the ability to talk!  Amen!

Lots of love in Jesus Name!

PS:  Dear reader, please remember that the scripture used are from the New International Version.  If the scripture is read in another language and translation it might differ slightly.  A verse in the NIV might be a different one in your Bible, i.e. Ps 37:3 in the NIV might be Ps 37:4 in your bible.  This does not always occur, but happens in some instances.
