You are the apple of His eye!

25 June 2009

Father, Father I worship You alone! Jesus, You are my redeemer as best friend! Holy Spirit, You are my life, my breath! Amen!

Dear reader, have you ever wondered what you are worth? Have you ever felt like someone else would have done better than you in this or that and wondered why God picked you? This of course applies to both wonderful things that happen as well as difficult challenges coming your way. We often find ourselves going through something really difficult and then it often feels as if no one is there to help or understand. But did you know that Jesus is there to guide you, to help you along the way? You might say Yes to this answer, but do you really know what this means? It means that no matter what the challenge, He is greater than that challenge and if you feel down or lonely or as if nothing works out, you have forgotten that He is there, in you!

My son has been going through a very challenging time in terms of his health. He lost feeling in both his arms and although he can now move them, we are trusting God for the feeling to come back. But this happened on top of many other challenges at school with bullies not wanting to leave him alone. He has been hit and verbally abused. Furthermore, kids would hit him to see if he is acting on not having any feeling in his arms, hence hurting him and making fun of him. This has resulted in him becoming negative and asking God why these things keep on happening to him. Although a parent’s first reaction is that he must hit back and defend himself, his reaction is that by hitting would not solve anything. So we started praying and asking God for help and it came in Zechariah 4:6 that says “Not by might, nor by power, but by My Spirit, says the Lord Almighty.” And then God gave us Zechariah 2:8 – 9 that says “….for whoever touches you touches the apple of His eye.” Wow! Thank You God, Thank You. In You our victory lies, Amen! So as a family we are trusting God to help my son. He trusts God to help him go through these challenges, knowing that Jesus is there to protect Him and the Spirit of God to guide him.

What are you going through, dear reader? Do you feel like giving up? Have you made decisions that you have regretted and now feel so far from God because of that? Have you been hurt so many times that you don’t care about anything or anyone anymore? Are you tired of fighting for the same things over and over without any positive results? Well, I can’t tell you it will get easier and I can’t tell you it will go away. But I can tell you that if you believe in Jesus, that He overcame death and that His Spirit is alive in You, then you can face any challenge coming your way, but only if you believe. It all starts with faith. Proclaim victory in the name of Jesus. Proclaim Jesus’ love over every challenge. Declare who you are. Fast, pray and seek the Lords heart so that you clearly hear the voice of God. Allow the Holy Spirit to take over. If you are hurt, forgive and return love instead. You can’t do this alone; remember “not by might, nor by power, but by My Spirit, says the Lord Almighty.”

Furthermore, if someone hurts you, touches you or say things about you, you really have 2 choices. If you hold on to it and make it personal, without identifying the true identity of the real enemy (satan), then it will eat at you, making you experience emotions such as feeling useless, unworthy, unforgiving and negative. If you give all the hurt and challenges to the Lord, exercise true forgiveness, set people free, forget the things of the past and trust God to deal with your challenges, He will take you into victory! Remember, you are after all the apple of His eye!

With lots of love in Jesus Name
